That Tesla Cybertruck has always looked rubbish and owners seem not to have liked them. However, when I looked at the pictures I thought it strange that the glass doors of Trump Hotel appeared intact after an explosion in the confined space of the porte cochere. It seems the Tesla contained much of the blast and most of the energy went up rather than sideways. So the Cybertruck is useful, if only as an improvised bomb container.
The culprit, Livelsberger, was in Special Forces Intelligence. Fitting then that he failed to do his research. Simply trying to get Musk and Trump in one hit?

Federal investigators examining the ISIS-inspired terror attack that killed 14 in New Orleans report that Shamsud-Din Jabbar used a very rare explosive compound in the two functional IEDs placed prior to the vehicle-ramming attack. Authorities are investigating how Jabbar acquired the knowledge to create this homemade explosive, according to two senior law enforcement officials briefed on the matter.


Those officials say that the explosive has never been used in a U.S. terror attack or incident, nor in any European terror attack.


A key question for investigators is how Jabbar learned about the compound and how he managed to produce it. It remains unclear why the IEDs failed to detonate. Investigators are exploring whether it was due to a malfunction, a lack of triggering, or another factor entirely.

A decorated Army veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder called U.S. government leadership “weak” and appeared to acknowledge he purposely blew up a Tesla Cybertruck at the entrance of the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day, police said Friday.


Assistant Sheriff Dori Koren of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said investigators were able to access one of two phones found in the Cybertruck and viewed writing in an app that seemed to serve as a journal, documenting some of Matthew Alan Livelsberger’s movements and state of mind from Dec. 21 to New Year’s Eve.


Two letters in the phone app suggest a possible motive in the blast, Koren said. In one letter, he tells “fellow service members, veterans and all Americans” it’s time to “wake up” because the country’s leadership is “weak” and “only serves to enrich themselves.”


A second letter appeared to shed more light on Livelsberger’s thinking.


“We are the United States of America, the best country ... to ever exist, but right now, we are terminally ill and headed towards collapse,” a second letter said. “This was not a terrorist attack. It was a wake up call. Americans only pay attention to spectacles and violence. What better way to get my point across than a stunt with fireworks and explosives. ... I need to cleanse my mind of the brothers I’ve lost, and relieve myself of the burden of the lives I took.”


Spencer Evans, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Las Vegas division, added that the investigation along with a consultation with the Army determined that Livelsberger likely had post-traumatic stress disorder, and that investigators are aware that there were potential “family issues or personal grievances in his own life that may have been contributing factors.”


Livelsberger expressed other grievances, including about conflicts elsewhere in the world, and domestic and societal issues, Koren said. He cautioned that investigators continue to go through evidence found on the cellphone, and Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill said investigators have been unable to access a second phone found in the Cybertruck.


Evans said authorities have not established any firm connections between the Cybertruck explosion and the alleged terrorist attack that occurred in New Orleans hours earlier that killed 14 people on Bourbon Street.


The only links investigators have established appeared incidental and coincidental, including that both suspects rented their vehicles from the same company.


Livelsberger also held no animosity toward President-elect Donald Trump, Evans said.


Livelsberger was definitively identified on Thursday as the suspect behind the blast, Las Vegas police said. The Clark County coroner determined that he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.


Authorities said they were able to identify Livelsberger’s badly burned body through various means, including family DNA and tattoos.


Livelsberger, 37, was on approved leave from the military when he rented a Tesla Cybertruck and drove from Colorado to Las Vegas, according to law enforcement officials. Fireworks and gas in the bed of that truck would later ignite after he parked it just outside of the Trump hotel’s entrance.


People who served with Liverlsberger throughout his nearly two decades in uniform described him as a dedicated, patriotic soldier and good teammate. Two soldiers who served with him in recent years both expressed surprise at his actions, one saying that he was “not a violent person.”

Shoemate revealed the email on The Shawn Ryan Show podcast, describing its contents as allegations of advanced drone technology, a cover-up of a 2019 airstrike in Afghanistan, and claims of being under U.S. government surveillance.


Newsweek reached out to The Shawn Ryan Show for comment on Friday via email.


Why It Matters


Firework mortars and camp fuel canisters were found inside the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside President-elect Donald Trump's Las Vegas hotel early Wednesday. The blast resulted in a single casualty, the suspect inside the vehicle, and sparked a thorough investigation into potential terrorism.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill described the body in the Cybertruck as "almost beyond recognition." On Thursday, authorities identified the victim as Matthew Livelsberger, a 37-year-old U.S. Army veteran, who reportedly shot himself in the head moments before the explosion.


While investigators are still determining Livelsberger's motives for detonating the explosives outside the hotel, his alleged manifesto has provided some clues. In the document, Livelsberger raised questions about national security and U.S. military transparency, offering potential insight into his actions.

What To Know


Livelsberger allegedly sent an email to retired U.S. Army intelligence officer Sam Shoemate, detailing concerns about advanced drones using "GDIC propulsion systems," which he described as anti-gravity technology.


In the email, read on "The Shawn Ryan Podcast," Livelsberger claimed that the U.S. and China developed and deployed the drones. He alleged that China launched them from submarines along the U.S. East Coast, calling them "the most dangerous threat to national security" because of their stealth, ability to evade detection and unlimited payload capacity.


Livelsberger also referenced his involvement in a 2019 U.S. airstrike in Nimruz Province, Afghanistan. He claimed the operation, which targeted drug facilities, caused civilian casualties, including women and children, and was covered up by U.S. authorities. The allegations align with a 2019 U.N. report criticizing the strikes as unlawful. Livelsberger said the incident pushed him to speak out.


Additionally, he accused the FBI and Homeland Security of monitoring and tracking him, describing efforts to avoid being detained.


The only person who died as a result of the incident was the suspect, from a self-inflicted gunshot, according to police.

Is Manifesto Real?


After the alleged manifesto began circulating on social media following the podcast, reporters asked Las Vegas police and the FBI at a press conference if the suspect had written it. Authorities said they believe the letter shared by Shawn Ryan was authored by the bombing suspect.

Shoemate said Friday that he received an email from Livelsberger on Tuesday. According to Shoemate, the email said:


"In case I do not make it to my decision point or on to the Mexico border I am sending this now. Please do not release this until 1JAN and keep my identity private until then.


"First off I am not under duress or hostile influence or control. My first car was a 2006 Black Ford Mustang V6 for verification.

What Happens Next


Authorities are still working to determine a motive. Among the charred items found inside the truck were a handgun at Livelsberger's feet, another firearm, fireworks, a passport, a military ID, credit cards, an iPhone and a smartwatch, McMahill said. Authorities said both guns were purchased legally.


Investigators suspect Livelsberger may have been planning a more damaging attack, but the steel-sided vehicle absorbed much of the force from the crudely built explosive.

I watched that interview but thought they were sort of conspiracy kinda guys. Mostly because they made a lot Livelsberger’s message about a war crime he said he had personal knowledge of but said nothing really about the over-the-top claim of antigravity craft.
