    RIP Tina Turner

    The girl had a voice.

Being born in the 80's I never really knew she was so damn... sexy? Lively?

If there'll be a movie of her life, I hope it's done well, as it could be brilliant.

Certainly a class act. Saw her around 2001 at the New Orleans Arena (now the Smoothie King Center), on one of her 'farewell' tours. Very good, and still energetic given her age, though I thought she was bettered by Joe Cocker who opened the show. That same week at the same venue, I saw Willie Nelson open for The Dixie Chicks.

Well, Edmundo, I am too young to have seen Tina Turner in her prime also. I remember my parents going to see Ike and Tina Turner in a local venue which children were not allowed in. Maybe Grant’s Lounge in Macon, Ga.

Ike was a c__t, Tina stuck two fingers up to him and showed she was the real class in the act - RIP Tina, those thighs could crush walnuts.

^ She outlived Father Ted by exactly 25 years.

Went to a gig the next night which was around March-ish 1998.

^^^Probably one of the few artists who could get very nearly 100% agreement on that.

And there's always a few wankers.

Tina with my team's stars, the Balmain Tigers, Benny Elias, Blocker Roach, Tim Brasher & Paul Sironen.

    RIP Tina Turner-tina-turner-jpg

Tina was hired to promote Rugby League in a series of very successful advertisements.
The 1989 'What You Get Is What You See' campaign proved to be an absolute juggernaut, and was followed by the equally iconic 'Simply The Best' ad the following year.

Ironically, one of, if not her biggest hit, is the one she did not like.

I've been a fan since the early 70s, saw her in sydney about 1977 (?) when she was with Ike. Saw her again in 1985 on her Private dancer tour, it was Christmas Eve and second last show of an epic tour so it turned into a mammoth party. She did encore after encore, even did a medley of Christmas carols....imagine Rudolph the red nosed reindeer sang as only Tina Turner could ! 3 1/2 hours of the best concert ever.
    RIP Tina....simply the best

I saw Tina way back in the early seventies. The venue was a hillside just outside my home town of Kamloops, B.C. There were about 2500 folks folks in attendance including a couple of hundred very drunk and stoned Hell's Angels. I knew the promoters as they had been friends for many years. They were big time dealers and I was one of their better customers. At one time I was going to help finance the endeavor until I realized that the whole enterprise was being financed by extra coke dollars, and a lot of it. I had a standing invitaton to visit the promoters tent and on a couple of occasions I got to sit down and snort volumes of cocaine with Tina. She was totally wired. It was a memorable experience. RIP girl.

I remember my mom listening to her as a kid. Then Mtv and she was all over that with her videos. An interesting fact was that she renounced her US citizenship and became a Swiss national. Said she was more popular in Europe. Crazy thing though because she was huge in the states too.

RIP Tina Turner, another great one gone.

Well, her husband's German, and Switzerland is a better place to live.

Only an American could consider it at all crazy.

How would you know, you have never been to the states. Switzerland may be beautiful, but it is not the most exciting place in the world.

You need better reading comprehension. Where did I say it was crazy to live in Switzerland? I was talking about the fact that she didn't think she was very popular in the US when she was.

I have been to the States and lived in Switzerland for a couple of years.

ffs, how old was she when she switched? 60+ or 70+?

A bit old for attractions like firearms and fentanyl.
