I think it was today (could have been yesterday) where a panelist on CNN was saying that this was the result of "systemic racism".
Not sure I could wrap my head around that. I think the fact that it was five black policemen beating a young black man to death has everyone in a bit of a flummox.
The majority of gang members around the world identify themselves through specific characteristics.
From the mugshots, they could look like gang members from wearing hoodies and facial hair.
What's your perspective?
To get back on topic.
I have a feeling as this cannot be attributed to race, then the riots should not be as severe as past ones. The only reason being is that there is a much larger (and vocal) BLM movement compared to an anti-police movement.
But there will be trouble.
Black diamonds? I shit 'em.
A horse hoofing herd happily horse hoofing.
Just more proof that seppoland is third world speaking (well trying to speak) a first world language...
Just how pig-shit thick does a group of American rozzers need to be nowadays, to pull a coloured-gentleman from his car, beat him to death over a prolonged period as he cries for his mother, then fistbump each other afterwards.
Not a race/colour thing
Not a social class thing.
[regardless of circumstances or situation]
It is a police thing.
And still not comprehended as such.
Jeff is correct in this instance. It was the thin blue line gang that beat this young man to death. It's the fucked up police culture whereby the cops are of a seige mentality. It's the thin blue line against the public. With the militarization of police agencies cops are behaving more like occupying forces rather than law enforcement officers.
It's disappointing, but not surprising, to see all the aging racists here on TD pile on and somehow excuse their racism 'cos the cops happened to be black.
I'll probably get slayed for this opinion, but there you go.
pues, estamos aqui
^ no i am not, did i say he was asking for it?
He didn't deserve to die, least of all at the hands of those who are supposed to protect and serve. I am however not going to get worked up or lose any sleep over yet another injustice involving Mercas law enforcement agencies.
What was thos guy stopped for? I heard one of the officers talking about him swerving between lanes and nearly hitting one of the police vehicles. Is there video cam of this?
It appears the police thought he was DUI and were obviosly worried about what he might have taken.
They were obviously a little heavy handed, but fear has that affect on people.
It is more a view on US society and how it has managed to screw itself up with guns, drugs and fear on both sides of the law divide.
Get rid of the second smendment crap would be the first step. Too much them and us instead of just us.
Ii strongly suspect Troy hasn't a racist bone in his body but like many of us is guilty of clumsy posts.
The problem with these OPs on subjects like these is they are perfect for Teakdoor and allows the usual bun fights for those looking for them - the only shame is Rant ain't around to mount his horse, shame really could have got this to 1K in 2 days.
Oddly enough no-one is asking you to get 'all worked up' . . . but you do like to pretend you're all innocent in all this. You get pushback and then go all hyperbolic.
Suffice it to say there was no reason the man deserved to die . . . I didn't watch the video, not necessary, the accounts on here are horrific enough.
