It means they were idiots to try when no experienced teams had made the attempt in the last few months, probably due to conditions.

It is a sad reflection when hearing of their noble quests one already knows the outcome . . . it is even sadder when the outcome is confirmed to be exactly what one thought it would be.

One should crawl before one attempts to walk, one should walk before one attempts to run.

Not so in Thailand . . . Nuclear Power! Climbing Everest! One million cows! $100 laptops . . . sigh, am I living in a parody?
