New Zulu king crowned in South Africa

Misuzulu ka Zwelithini has been crowned the Zulu king in a traditional ceremony in South Africa.

The coronation comes after a year-long family feud, where some royals had argued he was not the rightful heir to the throne, with claims that the late king's will was forged.

Thousands of people gathered at the KwaKhangelamankengane Palace in KwaZulu-Natal to see the new king, who entered the sacred cattle kraal to invoke his ancestors before being announced to both the living and the dead as the new Zulu monarch.

The throne has no formal political power but is still influential as a fifth of South Africa's population is Zulu.

As an aside, I didn't know that the Zulu even had a King!

Caine co-starred in a film called Zulu, based on a historical event in which an awful lot of Zulus were killed. The film is probably considered to be wildly racist today (but its still a bloody good film).

^ - oh, and one of Michael Caine's catchphrases is "Not a lot of people know that". Harry definitely knows what the comment was about.

Actually it was never his catchphrase. Peter Sellers said it (or close to it) on his answering machine message taking the piss out of Caine and it became urban lore; Caine used it in "Educating Rita".

One of those "famous" sayings like Bogart who never said "Play it again Sam".

    He did, however, say...
