Supreme Court reported to be overturning Roe vs Wade

    I didn't realise A Handmaid's Tale was a documentary.

Supporters of legal abortion and those who oppose it gather Monday night outside the Supreme Court in response to a Politico report that the Supreme Court is ready to overturn Roe vs. Wade and allow states to outlaw abortion.

Somewhat amazingly the draft majority opinion was leaked:

Pretty sure one of their surnames was Wade.

Similar-ish to Noyes Vs Topper, but Tefler V Tefler much more time spent fighting online and in court.

It’s too bad Republicans don’t care nearly as much about human life, after birth, as they do pre-birth.

This wouldn't have happened if the Democrats were allowed to appoint Merrick Garland.

    Pack the court.

The U.S. supreme court needs reform. The constitution is obviously flawed when it can be interpreted differently depending on your politics. How that will get fixed I dont know. There needs to be a fixed term of appointment of judges with retirement at 70 years old or possibly younger which may help. Whilst I sympathise with people of faith on this issue, that does not given them the right to interfere or impose their beliefs on others peoples democratic rights who do not share their belief. I have always been uneasy with this issue which has a far greater effect on a womans health and life, being decided by men. IMO this is an issue of a womens rights and it is a matter of their individual conscience and no one elses. Certainly rape incest and the womens health both physical and mental should be a non issue.

To be followed by some sanctimonious US politician lecturing others about human rights.

I blame Ginsburg whose hubris did not allow her to resign during Obama's term , even though the prognosis of her medical condition was not encouraging. She handed trump and the far right a nice present . and us a flaming bag of shit we will have to live with for a long long time.

^Staggeringly bad decision by Ginsburg. A lot of her achievements are likely to be unraveled.

The insanity of septic society never fails to amuse.

Whereas its rightwing, redneck, republican, fuckwitted population, led by loony demagogues, resist any notion of meaningful gun control, a scandal which has resulted in the now annual slaughter of young people numbering 4,000 fatalities, a toll exceeding those killed in automobile accidents, this same demographic lays claim to be 'pro life' and wants abortion outlawed.

Truly, their stupidity is pathological and probably exceeds that of the lumpen Russian peasantry.

I reckon the average Republican septic could give the Thai Somchai a run for his money in the imbecile stakes.

Well here he is on his Christian hobby horse.

Quite frankly none of the religions inc your pet mussie one which allows child brides, cousin fuking and hides all manner of abuse against women have a place in determining law in a modern society where logic and science should be applied.

The thing is, pretty much 60% of septics actually think God exists, is a Christian and that life is a gift of His Creation and as such has a purpose in His divine plan, and nigh on 90% of septics think there is some form of ' higher being '.

As I said, the majority are fucking idiots and it is inevitable that stupidity is their lingua franca.

Given the universe is incalculably larger than what we first thought, something we have only come to know until comparatively recently, the planet is as significant as a grain of sand in a world made of sand and yet all these septics actually think something written in the past 1500 years should inform their thinking today.

Stupidity is the greatest determinant in current human development.

Erm, i don't think its just the mercans, you have indians who have a God for every day of the year, mussies with a religion world wide that is being moved further into the dark ages and any nut job can appeal to muppets who are unable to form cogent opinions or think logically - look at scientologists ffs, simply staggering the number of saps that believe in one scam or another.

But the focus of the thread is on a specific act of septic foolishness and its origins.

    Do keep up.

Public opinion is like a stripper
A stripper dances from one leg to the other, and in the middles she earns her living.
Most Americans and I will venture to say most people in the world have an opinion that falls somewhere in the middle.
This is simply a wedge issue that they will stick in the middle .
    Pun intended

No, but I’m sure he’s watched plenty of Hollywood movies, so he’s well-informed.

Does anyone believe in free will ? I don't.

Its just strange how some ppl are so sure about their atheism, yet they still aren't determinists. They 100% believe that they are the authors of their lives.
