I hear in California anyone can walk into a shop, take what they want and walk out. Some "rule".

The increase will amount to about $27 more SNAP benefits per person per month, or just over $100 per month in food assistance for a family of four.

Some even moved there by choice.

^ Why don’t you become Russian? You love Putin and his politics and hate the West. Sure they would have you!

The grass is greener and all that stuff.

^^Very informative article. Good find. (albeit a bit apples vs oranges re: immigration histories)

Let's hope the two countries (US and Russia)come to terms with their disagreement over Crimea status.

Well, helge, you and I have been unhappy with where we lived, picked up our sticks, and moved to another country. It can be done.

I would like to become Thai.

What about you? Happy sitting around and being a contrarian in skandiland?

    Yes
After experiencing Thailand, I can't say that I have ever been happier to have danish mud under my soul

    And:

I don't need to move to some third world country to sustain a decent lifestyle.

We've been through that already, Backspit. Former Soviet states who were crippled by the Soviet occupation are even worse off than Russia - well done.

Take those out of it - zip . . . well, you can count them on one hand

Capital flowed outward from the center in Moscow into these countries. The Soviets educated and industrialized them. Its 30+ years later and these countries have had their "freedom". And some are poorer now than when they were part of the bloc.

Can someone refresh my memory on how many of those South Americans massing at the U.S. border are really only there to get a direct flight to Russia?
