Chauvin expected to plead guilty in Floyd civil rights case

Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin appears to be on the verge of pleading guilty to violating George Floyd’s civil rights, according to a notice sent out Monday by the court’s electronic filing system.

The federal docket entry shows a hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday for Chauvin to change his current not guilty plea in the case. These types of notices indicate a defendant is planning to plead guilty. The court system also sent out instructions for media to attend the hearing.

Chauvin has already been convicted of state murder and manslaughter charges for pinning his knee against Floyd’s neck as the Black man said he couldn’t breathe during a May 25, 2020 arrest. He was sentenced to 22 1/2 years in that case.

He and three other former officers — Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao — were set to go to trial in late January on federal charges alleging they willfully violated Floyd’s rights.

Do you know what many people would say you are for supporting extra-judicial killing on the basis of someone allegedly being a cnut though?

And you must care about the 'color aspect' because you saw fit to mention it (and of course a 'but' immediately disqualifies everything previous to it).

Yesssss I mentioned it because it was pretty much the highlight of the whole saga and the subsequent protests. For me it had nothing to do with race because I really don't see colours. I have enough friends from enough backgrounds to know colour doesn't mean shit.

    Nitpick much?

Tell all the Black people being profiled and gunned down by police that ‘color doesn’t matter’. There’s a reason it was integral to the protests.

’It doesn’t effect me so it’s not an issue’ is not the killer point you think it is.

No time to go down this rabbit hole, I think the statistics I provided in that kids trial thread, clearly showed that when you measure up the stats to a criminal population, there is no significant 'special treatment'. Sure there are racist cops but it is a minority and I hate to disappoint you but we have never and will never live in a perfect world, it just isn't in the human species DNA. Wow, you know if you look there are so many positive stories that are totally skipped over just to support a narrative of division for God knows what purpose.

Then you’re looking at the wrong numbers or interpreting them incorrectly because the research is clear and unambiguous.

Denying that systemic racism is an issue is just as damaging as being racist—if not actually more so. It makes you literally and figuratively a part of the problem.

It turns out that Americans are getting wise to fake hate crimes. In fact, there are so few real hate crimes that people like Jussie Smollett have to make them up. Or, as a commentator Clay Travis once said of Jussie in 2019, “The demand for racist hate far exceeds the supply of any racist hate incidents.

So few hate crimes exist that not only do Leftists have to make them up, they have to redefine what racism is (see critical race theory for an example of how they do this). All of a sudden racial profiling is back! But this time it’s “good.” Black Lives Matter said so. And if you don’t agree, they and their Antifa fellow travelers will burn your house down.

There are so many fake hate crimes that several databases have been launched to keep track of them. The best one I’ve seen was recommended by PJ Media colleague Kevin Downey, Jr. . It is called, coincidentally enough, fakehatecrimes.org.

Have you actually ever met a logical fallacy and specious and spurious argument that you didn't like.

There's really only one reason that anyone could or would be interested in denying systemic racism exists or obfuscating and that's if they prefer and benefit from the status quo and are racists themselves.
