Terrifying footage from the incident on Sunday shows the man jumping into the water from the famed Raouche Rocks in Beirut, Lebanon, unaware of a tourist boat below.
As he jumps, crowds screamed at him “don’t do it,” The Sun reports.
Despite the onlookers’ warning, the man — identified as Fahd Ibrahim Jamil Al-Lakma from Syria — tragically lost his life after the jump.

The clip begins with the young man getting ready to jump while terrified onlookers try to warn him that a tourist boat had just emerged from a tunnel under the cliff.
Onlookers gasp as he falls from a height of 36m and crashes on the boat with an audible thud.
The young man, from Hajin in Syria’s eastern Deir ez-Zor Governorate, was killed instantly after hitting his head on the boat.
The driver of the boat was also injured.

Agents from the Lebanese Civil Defence pulled the young man’s body out of the water and took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The boat driver was taken to another hospital, where he received treatment for his injuries.
Diving off the Raouche Rocks into the sea below is a popular activity among young men in the Lebanese capital.
Also known as Pigeon’s Rock, the natural landmark is a major tourist attraction off the seaside neighbourhood of Raouche, known for its upscale apartments, restaurants and seaside cafes.
