    Key Points

    • Auckland in New Zealand has been named the most livable city globally by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
    • Asia-Pacific cities dominated the top 10 rankings this year even as the pandemic caused overall livability around the world to decline.
    • But on a regional average, Asia ranked well below North America and Western Europe, according to the survey.

The top 10 most livable cities in the world, and their scores according to The Global Liveability Index 2021, are:

    • Auckland, New Zealand (96.0)
    • Osaka, Japan (94.2)
    • Adelaide, Australia (94.0)
    • Wellington, New Zealand (93.7)
    • Tokyo, Japan (93.7)
    • Perth, Australia (93.3)
    • Zurich, Switzerland (92.8)
    • Geneva, Switzerland (92.5)
    • Melbourne, Australia (92.5)
    • Brisbane, Australia (92.4)

The livability index ranks cities based on more than 30 qualitative and quantitative factors across five broad categories: stability, health care, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

I think they should add a 31st factor. Big fucking spiders should drop the livability score by 10 points.

What a stupid ranking system . . . the median price for a home is Akl is now over 1.1 million, ghettos have formed, water shortages are normal, infrastructure is shit, traffic is horrible and the ridiculous PM wants to spend 600 million to add a cycle lane to the harbour bridge to accommodate an 'expected' daily 3000 self-righteous, 'we are like Rosa Parks' cyclists . . . while parts of the city are turning into slums. Nurses are on strike for pay and conditions . . . Maori are receiving 380 million for housing and a billion for general Maori spend . . . and other minorities don't count . . . well, some Pasifika also get benefits but not much compared.

Friggin' council rates going through the roof!!!

All you hear on the radio, however, is best in the world at this and that and friggin everything. Today it's the best police force in the world because they caught some biker crims from FBI and Aussie intelligence.

    Rant over.

Best in the world . . . tell that to the countless homeless

A problem they have in many parts of London is that teachers and health workers can not only not afford to live near work, but they can't even afford the transport there from a practical distance.

Same here . . . it's just ludicrous. London has grown over centuries, however, whereas Akl has boomed more rapidly. Madness
