We are now being somewhat assured that his Holiness does intend to offer an apology for the Kamloops situation at least and probably for the more general Canadian situation. We are told that he wishes to consult with Canadian government and native representatives before simply blurting something out.

I am looking forward to that.

In the meantime a couple of our loyal TD members can attempt to find another heap of shit to entertain themselves in.

Get a life guys. The gig is up.

So the notion that unmarked graves of children at a home for single unwed mothers run by a bunch of criminal fucking kiddie fiddlers might be for the same reasons as another bunch of unmarked graves of children at a home for single unwed mothers run by a bunch of criminal fucking kiddie fiddlers is.....wait for it.....

No idea whatsoever what you're on about mate.

The Kamloops 'facility' has no connection to "a home for unwed mothers".

Maybe put the whiskey aside for the sake of the 'discussion'.

Maybe the best solution is to permanently ban the bead rattling kiddie fiddlers from ANY contact with children.

    Just an update.

I drove by the 'school' yesterday and there was a long line up of people trying to get onto the grounds. The area around the 'school' was packed solid with people. This has become a native shrine in many ways.

The chief of the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation asked for patience from mourners and those wanting more information about the recent discovery of the remains of 215 children found buried on the grounds of the band’s former residential school.
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Kukpi7 Rosanne Casimir asked mourners to “respect the space” of the 215 children. She said more information will be made public within weeks.
“There will be a time to gather, and Tk’emlups te Secwepemc will take the lead when that is best. This is only the beginning,” she said.
“We’re all grieving. This is unprecedented. We need to do the right thing and there is no roadmap.”
Casimir said the band hopes to have a report on the burial site completed by the end of the month. She said the report — including investigative findings and technical information — will be presented to TteS band members and neighbouring First Nations, as well as the media

Certainly is. It is estimated that over 150,000 First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, between the ages of 4 and 16 years old, attended Indian residential schools in Canada.

Still a lot more digging, no pun intended, to do.

Many communities have indicated they have no interest in digging. It's a native thing, I can't say I understand where they are coming from. If they start digging significantly all across Canada it's going to be a long sweltering uncomfortable summer. This discovery here has caused far more deep trauma than I had originally thought. It has struck a giant nerve.

You keep using this phrase, particularly enamoured? Uncomfortable, why? For former teachers at this school or may or may not have been involved in atrocities...

Colour me surprised, Russ is not the expert on national trauma that he thought he was.

I think it highly likely that these are connected. Today is also National Indigenous Day across Canada. I don't think there will be much of an investigation conducted on these two fires. I've seen a number of burned down churches over the years.

How many kids have these bead-rattling paedophiles killed?!

Hundreds of bodies reported found in unmarked graves at former Saskatchewan residential school

OTTAWA – A Saskatchewan First Nation says it has made the “horrific and shocking discovery” of hundreds of unmarked graves — many believed to be children — near a former residential school, with a total expected to be over three times higher than the 215 discovered recently in Kamloops, B.C., according to a source briefed on the file.

Leaders of the Cowessess First Nation, a roughly two hour drive east of Regina, are expected to reveal details of the macabre discovery near what was once the Marieval Indian Residential School during a press conference Thursday morning, as well as the latest count of newly-identified remains.

“The number of unmarked graves will be the most significantly substantial to date in Canada,” says an advisory published Wednesday evening by the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, which represents 74 First Nations in Saskatchewan.

The remains are in unmarked graves in a communal gravesite first used in 1885 but eventually taken over by the Marieval Indian Residential School, founded and operated by the Roman Catholic Church beginning in 1899 on what was then the Marieval Reserve.

Each of these 'discoveries' will be quite different.

In terms of this latest discovery, there were once a large number of gravestones at the site but for a reason that remains unclear the gravestones were removed. So these were once well marked graves where the stones were removed over time so they are not exactly 'unmarked'. I expect to see many more 'discoveries' this Summer and Fall, let's hope stupid minded people don't turn this body count thing into some sort of competition. This story is ongoing and will remain so for years. All levels of government are starting to throw millions of dollars at the bands.

Just one of many in Saskatchewan. More to come and not just on "bead rattling" operated school sites.

Why do you keep trying to deny, gaslight, and minimize every discovery or report about this issue? It’s almost as if you personally were involved…

    Nonsense. Give it a break

It feels like I was personally involved and I'm sure that is a sentiment shared among many non-indigenous Canadians.

I wish you could comment on the story rather than attempting to attack me personally. It really does get tiring. Give it a rest. Start another wildflower thread.

The horrendous death of hundreds or thousands of native children after being torn from their families housed in these residential schools is a despicable act bordering on genocide. Anyone and everyone involved should be hunted down and made to pay.

Bingo. Again, what's your skin in the game, you have already admitted to being a teacher there.

I haven't admitted to anything, if there is anything to admit to.

I told you that while teaching at another school in Kamloops I would take my Special Education class over to the residential 'school' and do some integrated teaching with a class at that school.

I have made many posts because the story is very close to home for me. What's the big deal. Surely you have something more constructive to do rather than stalking me on the thread.

    Please piss off KW.

The 'deal' is with you completely pre-judging the issues and absolving anyone of blame without really having a clue wtf you're talking about.

That and your more general, decade-long tendency to post half-baked drivel.

Speaking of which, the wildflower thread was no posted by kw.

By the same kiddie fiddlers that caused their deaths? Probably to avoid drawing attention to their genocide.
