Didn't quite make the ton- so no letter from the Queen. Damn, they could've even saved on the postage stamp. Good innings anyway, RIP.

He was Elizabeth's rock and will be a very hard loss to bear. Philip proved some entertainment, those quotes are an example Strigis, I still get a chuckle. A big state funeral perhaps although Co-vid may affect that. RIP Philip. Hang in there Liz, keep on trucking, keep getting on with it.

I did march in front of the Prince once when I was in the navy, his party was on the steps of the Sydney Town Hall. I believe I may have caught a glimpse of the Royal trouser leg on the pass by.

It was at this point I glanced over at the username to see if it was Loy Toy, and the rest was going to be Prince Phillip giving him a Royal award.

I think now that her rock has gone she'll be close behind.

It will be a very difficult blow for sure. It may do her in for sure, or at least start the process.

You're an odd mix of lifelong stoner and arch royalist, Russ.

You'd certainly never make it past security into a garden party at Windsor.

As usual Cy you're about half correct, if that.

I'm a royalist for sure, a lifelong royalist at that.

I'm reminded that your expertise is in Kenyan affairs. I wonder how they might be taking the news.

Probably the same as any sensible person - not giving a fuck. 99yo sponging codger dies, and stops supping from the public purse. Nothing to see here move along.

The English have been playing around with their Kings and Queens for something like 900 years with some success and the odd failure.

I personally like Queen Elizabeth 11 for no other reason apart from her being around for my lifetime and always demonstrating class and control in a nice way.

She has lost the father of her children and the man who agreed to sacrifice his own life asperations when he married QE2.

I had no reason to dislike Phillip as he was always there when he should have been there and never stepped on toes.

    RIP Prince Phillip!

He's helped touch nearly half a million lives acorss 144 countries through the DOE award scheme he started, served in WWII and had more talent in his little finger than haters like Simple who is just jealous he had a sense of humour.
