Suspicious disappearance of Asian woman 25 and her children, Scotsman 50 arrested.

A 50-year-old man has been arrested in Dundee in connection with the disappearance of a woman and two children.

Avon and Somerset Police issued an appeal last week to trace 25-year-old Bennylyn Burke and two children from South Gloucestershire.

Officers investigating the disappearance went to a house in Troon Avenue, Dundee, on Friday afternoon.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing.

Det Supt Graeme Mackie, from the force's major investigation team, said: "Officers in Dundee attended a property on Troon Avenue around 15:20 on Friday, 5 March, 2021, as part of an inquiry into a missing 25-year-old woman, Bennylyn Burke, and two children from South Gloucestershire.

"As a result, a 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this and inquiries are ongoing. Bennylyn's next-of-kin have been made aware and are being supported by colleagues in Avon and Somerset Police.

"There will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days and we thank the local community for their cooperation at this time."

Det Supt Mackie asked anyone with information to speak to local officers or to call Police Scotland via 101.

Ms Burke and the two children were reported missing on 1 March. Avon and Somerset Police put out an appeal for information two days later.

The force said the 25-year-old was last seen at her South Gloucestershire home on 17 February.

A large police presence remains in Troon Avenue, which is near Downfield in the north of Dundee, with dozens of police and forensic officers at the scene.

Police Scotland has closed off the street with a cordon around the house.

A blue tent has also been erected in the front garden to cover a waste skip and yellow polythene has been used to cover windows at the back of the
    property.

Don't know what that's got to with anything.
There hasn't been any mention of any relationship between them.
How close are south Gloucestershire and Dundee ? Or are they the same place?

I would imagine that if he has been arrested in connection with their disappearance that it's highly likely they and he were in close proximity at some time in the recent past, no?

A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the deaths of Bennylyn and her daughter, Jellica. Enquiries are continuing to establish their whereabouts.

Ah, you are referring to the towns. I was referring to the family and the estranged husband.

    Pomplem solved.

Latest news is that one of her children has been found and that she and her 2 yr old daughter are subject to a murder inquiry.

I can't tell from the articles if the murders took place in Gloucestershire and they have traced the murderer to Dundee or if he took them to Scotland and killed them there. I didn't find any news on where the other child was found, which would give a better clue.

    Nice sleuthing Troy!

Where's Inspector Sid when you need him?

I'm going go with, met online over lockdown.

She went to visit him with the intention of moving in with a man double her age called Jack and somehow becoming wealthier.
When she realised what a shithole Dundee is and that her millionaire new husband to be was living on disability benefits and driving round in a 10 year old Skoda, she decided to fvck off back 400 miles to try again.

Unfortunately the Dundee Millionaire had been on the Carlsberg Special Brew and lost the plot.....to be continued..

Jesting aside I hope there's a happy ending

I hope this all ends well although the chances of that seem slim to none.

The thought crossed my mind as well.

I'm usually fairly accurate at guessing national background based on a picture, but in this case I don't know.

The lady obviously has Asian in her background, I'm guessing Chinese. There's Caucasian in there somewhere, maybe even Scottish.

    Any other guesses ?
