This American bombing strikes me as measured which I'm happy to see. I'm already liking what I see from Biden on the foreign policy front. I'm not looking forward to seeing any more American blood spilled over in that neck of the woods.

Now the Syrian people will appreciate even more the noble actions to help them to rid of the hated dictator. And they do not mind the destroyed country nor the killed people. Because the killed are always bad militants. (Only in some exceptional cases a group of wedding people)

Our consciousness is the womb of species specific truth

Thirty years on, Soviet crimes in Afghanistan must not be forgotten

During the almost one-decade-long occupation, more than one million Afghans were murdered by the USSR and its Afghan Communist regime in Kabul.

Wondering how the “unbiased” MSM (e. g. CNN) change their view: when Trump bombed that was such an outrage that he did not consult Congress. Not only the media but also current POTUS and his VP.

How lucky to believe the media that are not “state-controlled”...
BTW, who controlled them before? Or it is just “when two do the same thing, it’s not the same”?

National Cruise Missile Defense: Issues and Alternatives

    February 2021

CBO’s analysis yielded the following findings:

    • Cruise missiles could be used to attack the United States. Adversaries attempting such attacks could range from nonstate groups (including terrorists) that might be able to acquire a small number of missiles to “peer powers” (nations with large, advanced militaries) capable of launching much more sizable attacks.

    • Cruise missiles could be defeated with available technology, but a wide-area defense of the contiguous United States would be costly.Modified versions of systems that the military uses today could be purchased for homeland cruise missile defense. CBO estimates that the lowest-cost “architectures” it examined—integrated systems that comprise airborne or space-based radars, surface-to-air missiles, and fighter aircraft—would cost roughly $75 billion to $180 billion to acquire and operate for 20 years. Fielding additional regional or local defenses to protect Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories would add to the cost.

    • Operational factors could hamper defenses. Because many civilian aircraft fly in U.S. airspace, targets would have to be positively identified as threats before defenses could engage them. However, very little time is available for defenses to act against LACMs, so any delay in achieving positive identification would significantly challenge the effectiveness of defenses, and even advanced battle management systems might be hard-pressed to respond in time. Also, adversaries could launch many LACMs to overwhelm defenses in a specific location.

    • Adversaries would have attractive alternatives to using LACMs. Because, in many circumstances, adversaries could attack the United States with systems that would be easier to successfully employ, less expensive, and potentially more damaging than LACMs—from truck bombs detonated by terrorists to ballistic missiles launched by Russia, China, and possibly North Korea—decisionmakers would need to consider whether the cost of a wide-area cruise missile defense was proportionate to the overall risk posed by LACMs"

"CBO found that a homeland CMD would be feasible but expensive, with costs ranging from roughly $75 bil-lion to $465 billion over 20 years to cover the contiguous United States."

    Is there a budget available?

If developed would it protect adequately?

This has nothing to do with the Russians bombing civilians in Syria.
Which in turn has nothing to do with Biden ordering airstrikes in Syria.

    The thread topic is:

ameristani restarting illegal military force usage, against two countries expressed statements, against UNSC agreements and against most societies wishes.

In this instance Syria and Iraq democratically elected governments directly, international rules making establishments and overwhelming majority of earth's enlightened citizens.

Some believe others deaths death is acceptable if our lads survive. They believe future technology, dispatched at a distance, ensures that the expressed war is over applies to their fathers, mothers and children only. Loss of life will continue over there or downtown.

A 2017 Jen Psaki tweet questioning the legality of bombing Syria is reemerging after Biden launched an airstrike

White House press secretary Jen Psaki is facing criticism for an old tweet about Syria.

Psaki in 2017 questioned the legality of airstrikes launched by the Trump administration.

On Thursday the Biden administration launched attacks on Iran-backed militia groups in Syria.

On Friday the White House offered a justification, citing the US Constitution and principles of self-defense.

Psaki posted the tweet on April 14, 2017, after the Trump administration launched airstrikes against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad following a nerve agent attack on civilians by regime forces.

    It said:
"Also what is the legal authority for strikes? Assad is a brutal dictator. But Syria is a sovereign country."
Psaki questioned legal basis to bomb Syria years before Biden strike

about the different groups of terrorists inside Syria?
Here's one. Of many. Great allies in the USA's War of Terror.

    Turkistan Islamic Party

The Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) (Arabic: الحزب الإسلامي التركستاني‎, romanized: al-Ḥizb al-Islāmī al-Turkistānī; Uighur: تۈركىستان ئىسلام پارتىيىسى, Türkistan İslam Partiyisi) or Turkistan Islamic Movement (TIM), formerly known as the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) and other names,[note 1] is an Islamic extremist organization founded by Uyghur jihadists in Western China, considered broadly as a terrorist group. Its stated goals are to establish an independent state called East Turkestan replacing Xinjiang.[22] According to a Chinese report, published in 2002, between 1990 and 2001 the ETIM had committed over 200 acts of terrorism, resulting in at least 162 deaths and over 440 injuries.[23] The UN Security Council Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee has listed ETIM as a terrorist organization since 2002.[24]
Influenced by the success of the mujahideen against the Soviet war in Afghanistan during the Cold War, the TIP became prominent in 1990 during the Baren Township riot. The conflict took the form of a jihad which envisioned a similar result to the earlier creation of the First East Turkestan Republic (1933-1934).[25] Their slogans contained anti-Communist rhetoric and calls for uniting Turks, indicating a movement akin to Islamic pan-Turkism historically congruent with southern Xinjiang rather than pure, radical Salafi jihadism or religious extremism. The revolt lasted several days and was put down by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which deployed significant forces to suppress the insurrection. The CCP viewed them as a jihadist movement akin to the mujahideen in Afghanistan across the border which gave birth to more radical movements such as the Party of Allah and the Islamic Movement of East Turkistan.[25]

The Syrian branch of the TIP is active in the Syrian Civil War; they are largely grouped in Idlib[26] well organized, battle-hardened and have been instrumental in ground offensives against President Bashar Assad’s forces in Idlib and other Syrian northern regions.[14]

    Attacks[edit]

Further information: Xinjiang conflict § Timeline

    • On 25 February 1997, there were three bus bombings in Urumqi, killing nine. Responsibility was claimed by the Kazakhstan-based Uyghur Liberation Party[82][83] although this was later disputed.[84] No links to TIP were reported.
    • In Beijing's Xidan, a bus bomb killed two people on 7 March 1997 and Kazakhstan-based Uyghur separatists claimed responsibility.[83] The participation of Uyghurs in the bus bombing was dismissed by the Chinese government even while the Turkey-based "Organization for East Turkistan Freedom" boasted to committing the attack.[84][85] No links to TIP were reported.
    • In 2007, militants in cars shot Chinese nationals in Pakistani Balochistan, which Pakistani authorities believed to be in retaliation for an execution of an ETIM official earlier that July.[86] ETIM miliitants sent a videotape of the attack to Beijing.[citation needed]
    • ETIM also took credit for a spate of attacks before the 2008 Summer Olympics, including a series of bus bombings in Kunming, an attempted plane hijacking in Urumqi,[80] and an attack on paramilitary troops in Kashgar that killed 17 officers.[87]
    • In 2010 responsibility for several attacks in China was claimed by the Turkistan Islamic Party, according to the website of independent journalist Neil Doyle.[88]
    • On 29 June 2010, a court in Dubai convicted two members of an ETIM cell of plotting to bomb a government-owned shopping mall that sold Chinese goods. This was the first ETIM plot outside of China or Central Asia. The key plotter was recruited during Hajj and was flown to Waziristan to train.[89]
    • In July 2010, officials in Norway interrupted a terrorist bomb plot; one perpetrator was Uyghur, leading to speculation about TIP involvement. New York Times correspondent Edward Wong says that ETIM "give[s] them a raison d'être at a time when the Chinese government has... defused any chance of a widespread insurgency... in Xinjiang."[87]
    • Several attacks in 2011 in Xinjiang were claimed by the Turkistan Islamic Party.[90]
    • In October 2013, a suicide attack in Tiananmen Square caused 5 deaths and 38 injuries. Chinese police described it as the first terrorist attack in Beijing's recent history. Turkistan Islamic Party later claimed responsibility for the attack.[91]
    • In March 2014, a knife-armed group attacked passengers at the Kunming's railway station, resulting in 31 civilians dead and +140 injured.[92] No group claimed responsibility, but Chinese authorities and state media said that the attack had been linked to TIP while other sources were skeptical of this.[93][94]
    • Between July and December 2014, there were a series of riots, bombings, arson and knife attacks in Xinjiang which led to the deaths over 183 people (including civilians, attackers and security forces) and left dozens injured. Chinese authorities attributed some of these to "gangs" and others to "terrorists". There were no reports of TIP claiming responsibility.[95][96][97][98]
    • On 18 September 2015 in Aksu, a group of knife-wielding terrorists attacked sleeping workers at a coalmine and killed 50 of them. The Turkistan Islamic Party claimed responsibility for the attack.[99][better source needed]
    • On 30 August 2016, the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan was targeted in a suicide bombing which left Kyrgyz staffers injured; the attack was later attributed by Kyrgyzstan’s state security service to TIP.[100][101]

    Terrorist designation[edit]

Since the September 11 attacks, the group has been designated as a terrorist organization by China, the European Union,[102] Kyrgyzstan,[note 2][86][105] Kazakhstan,[106]Malaysia,[107]Pakistan,[108]Russia,[109] Turkey,[17][110]United Arab Emirates,[111][112] the United Kingdom,[113][114] and the United Nations.[115]

The organization was also formerly classified as a terrorist organization under Title 8 of the United States Code Section 1189 by the United States since 2002.[116][117] The United States Department of the Treasury has blocked the property and prohibited transactions with the organization according to Executive Order 13224[118] and the State Department has blocked its members for immigration purposes.[119] The U.S. revoked that classification in October 2020 on the basis that "there has been no credible evidence that ETIM continues to exist."[120] China accused the U.S. of double standards as it dropped ETIM from its terrorism list.[121][122][123]

Then why are you providing and protecting a sanctuary for them in Idlib? The only reason Isil & AQ still exist to any meaningful extent in Syria is because of You.

You made the mistake of attempting debate all those years ago, when you earnestly assured me the Assad regime would fall within three weeks. Your track record only deteriorated from there. I think throwing little bits of monkey poo suits you better.

When I said the Assad regime would fall in three weeks that was before Vlad the impaler decided to join in and back his genocidal fun. That is what has propped him up all these years, prolonged this civil war and allowed the vacuum to exist for IS to move in and wreak havoc, and allowed cheerleaders like yourself to gloat about the bloodshed.

HTS is not Al Qaeda. The US killed Al Baghdadi (or rather forced him to blow himself up), so Islamic State in Syria is in tatters.

There is no reason to barrel bomb Idlib any more, other than that Assad knows *any* sniff of opposition is a threat to him as soon as Vlad pulls the plug.

Is Assad had his way he would carpet bomb Idlib into rubble and bury it the way his father and uncle dealt with Hama, but it's not so easy when the body count would be in the millions, and I expect even Vlad has told him to wind his neck in on that one.

All of this is obviously too complicated for your tiny pro-Vlad brain to absorb, and it's not helped that you're the Vlad equivalent of a trumpanzee.

Biden’s Syria Attack: An Actual Impeachable Offense
written by ron paul monday march 1, 2021

    ---

As with Presidents Obama and Trump before him, however, Biden’s justification for the US strike and its targets is not credible. And his claim that the US attack would result in a “de-escalation” in the region is laughable. You cannot bomb your way toward de-escalation.

Biden thus joins a shameful club of US leaders whose interventions in the Middle East, and Syria specifically, have achieved nothing in the US interest but have contributed to the deaths of many thousands of civilians.
    ---

Trump’s airstrike on Syria did nothing to further real American interests in the region. But sending in 100 Tomahawk missiles to blow up a few empty buildings did a great deal to further the bottom line of missile-maker Raytheon.

Interestingly, Biden’s Secretary of Defense came to the Administration straight from his previous position on the board of, you guessed it, Raytheon. Libertarian educator Tom Woods once quipped that no matter who you vote for you get John McCain. Perhaps it’s also fair to say that no matter who you vote for you get to enrich Raytheon.
    --

In fact, initiating a war against a country that did not attack and does not threaten the United States without Congressional authority is an impeachable offense. But both parties – with a few exceptions – are war parties.

President Biden should be impeached for his attack on Syria, as should have Trump and Obama before him. But no one in Washington is going to pursue impeachment charges against a president who recklessly takes the United States to war. War greases Washington’s wheels.

Isn’t it strange how we’ve heard nothing about ISIS for the past couple of years, but suddenly the mainstream media tells us the ISIS is back and on the march? When President Biden says “America is back,” what he really means is “the war party is back.” As if they ever left.
