The Beautifull Bitch - Woman who blackmailed couple over photos of dying child

The Beautifull Bitch - Woman who blackmailed couple over photos of dying child-13137632-3x2-xlarge-jpg

Siti Kamal is appealing against her jail sentence, which her lawyers have called "manifestly excessive".

A woman who blackmailed a grieving couple over a lost phone containing photos of their dying daughter is appealing against her jail term, saying the sentencing judge was "overwhelmed" by the crime.

    Key points:

    • Siti Kamal is appealing against her three-and-a-half year jail sentence
    • She tried to extort money for a lost phone from the parents of a dying child
    • Her legal team says the judge made a mistake by saying the crime was "amoral"

Siti Kamal, 26, from Malaysia, has been in protective custody since she was arrested for seeking money from Jay and Deanne Windross while their 11-month-old daughter, Amiyah, was dying in Melbourne's Monash Children's Hospital in 2019.

Days earlier, Ms Windross had left her phone in a bathroom at the Chadstone Shopping Centre. It contained thousands of photos of her baby that were not backed-up.

Kamal pretended to have the phone and threatened to delete the images if she did not receive $1,000.

The threats occurred in the hours before Amiyah died, with Mr Windross pleading with the blackmailer over text to give them more time.

"My baby is in her last minutes," Mr Windross said.

"Can we discuss this tomorrow? She's about to leave us."

    "How?" Kamal asked.

Decision to appeal a 'kick in the guts'

Later Kamal gave the couple, now separated, an ultimatum: "Please transfer me money I will return u the phone, or maybe I just sell it."
Last year, Kamal was jailed for at least three-and-a-half years.

But today she appeared in Victoria's Court of Appeal where her legal team argued her sentence was "manifestly excessive" and the presiding judge had made a mistake by finding her crime was "amoral".

No, she never had the phone.

She saw their social media plea for the return of their phone, and then made contact with them saying that she has it and may sell or delete the pictures on it.

Well, yes, that is what happened.

It depends on what kind of a visa she is on . . . she can be sent back after completion of any sentence or any conviction, depending in her visa, even PR.

But yes, what a lovely example of humanity, she will get a reduced sentence . . .

I doubt she is a citizen

The 24-year-old and her husband moved to Springvale, in Melbourne’s southeast, in September last year. They left their two children behind, the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court heard on Monday.
Since arriving in Australia, Ms Kamal has been working as an Uber Eats delivery cyclist.

Ms Kamal was denied bail this week on the grounds that she posed a flight risk because her two children are still in Malaysia.

She'll cop hell when she gets back to Malaysia . . . and it's not her first brush with the law

Police reports with the same name also allege that she posed as the staff of a popular low-cost airline. One case has alleged that she took money for tickets of six passengers amounting to RM2,895.

Secretary-General of non-profit organisation Consumers Front for Sabah, Hashima Hasbullah, also told the Australian news portal that she is currently handling 163 cases of victims who claim they have been scammed out of more than AUD$34,900 (approx RM101,357), including 70 teachers and students who attempted to buy tickets for a school trip.

Siti moved to Australia with her husband in September 2018

Agreed, not beautifull, but 'pretty bitch' as a headline doesn't work.

    Hence 'beautifull bitch'.

    ---

I was surprised at the 3+ year initial sentence.

12 months would have done the trick.

During the year 2018, more than 800 criminals were stripped of Australian visas,
Their permission to stay in Australia was revoked under laws that require non-citizens sentenced to 12 months or more to lose their visas.

If they arrived in 2018 they might not be PRs yet nor citizens, plus they don't seem to have a skills-based nor family visa.

Who knows . . . basically she can be shoved off, but the operative word is 'can'. She will appeal on all sorts of grounds and will probably be allowed to stay.

Quite amazing what the legal and immigration systems here and in Oz allow . . .

I think it's a minimum two year process, and if she was jailed during I cannot see how she can complete it. Any sentence longer than 12 months opens her up to being deported and stripped.

kids at home? what a piece of work.

Add the US to that list of Amazing.

I am always bothered by the allowance people seem to be given. This gal should be packed up and sent back to Malaysia.

On a side note, most selfie pics by gals all made up are so heavily modified by numerous apps available. This gal isn't that pretty. She is an average street hustler. My niece showed me 3 apps that Thai girls use and I saw before and after. Amazing quite honestly. It's almost like false advertising.
