Let's take Harry as an example, another 'nemesis' of OhNo - Harry heaps scorn on China . . . but also on the UK, US, Australia, Russia . . . whoever and whichever. If the issue deserves Harry's scorn - it receives scorn.

OhNo and Klondyke reserve theirs only for the western nations, mainly the US, and are complete apologists for any critique or sleight of Russia/China.

But the other three?

The Syrian and Libyan regimes crumbled in the Arab spring. In the former you had the dictator du jour using military weapons against his own citizens, and Russia propped him up, not the USA.

In the latter you had the dictator du jour using military weapons against his own citizens, and the West took him out.

Syrian deaths: 400,000

Libyan deaths (and this is the higher end of the estimates): 25,000

Libya is semi stable, with a government that doesn't really exert true national control, and maybe it's future is as a federation of states like the UAE.

But its oil production is back to around 75% of where it was, so it's not quite the mess the seppo haters here like to pretend (or perhaps they are just too stupid to see the big picture).

As for Lebanon, exactly what the fuck are you bringing that into the conversation for? That was a Christian-run country that had its own Arab Spring in 1975, and the Muslim majority ended up taking over. The US didn't fight for any side, it was part of UN Peacekeeping forces designed to end the civil war and it succeeded. Lebanon's problems since are primarily sectarian, because Iran props up Hezbollah so they have a supply line to get weapons near the Israeli border which of course occasionally attracts Israel's "interest". The Sunni in Lebanon are not too happy with the situation, especially since the Iranians have a nasty habit of bumping off leaders they don't like (something to remember when whingeing about Israel bumping off nuclear scientists they don't like).
