Singapore . . . because and how? Surrounded by 300 million non-Chinese and 10 million Chinese who are quite happy not being Mainlanders and who can't stand Mainlanders?

But their current policy is brilliant. Doesn't matter if it's ingenious or accidentally, incompetently good.

    China: "We might invade Taiwan"
    'merica: "We might defend Taiwan"
China: "Well are you gonna defend or what?"

China: "I'm not invading if you're defending"

    Continue endless loop.

Both sides get to rattle sabres, make noises, and get some local support while everyone else just carries on with BAU.
China has 3 trillion dollars in FX reserves. 1 trillion in US treasury debt. The US has around 120 billion in FX reserves. So China owns more of the US carrier fleet than the US does.

It's all fine and dendy to have a big military. But that's only if it's paid for.

    Brilliant. It's paid for.

It must be wonderful to think at the level of a five-year old. I'll respond at the same level:

Possession is 9/10ths of the law. Finders keepers, losers weepers.

There, that should make it clear to even you

...erroneous thinking: US debt is in its own currency...more dollars can always be printed. I'm surprised Faber didn't mention that to you...
