In the 1994 war , Armenia kicked ass and pushed into Azerbaijan territory. So they are still at their 1967 borders if you will. Maybe that's all Azerbaijan wants back.

Huge news. A peace deal has been reached. Armenia capitulated. Russian peace keepers are being deployed. And the speaker of the Armenian parliament has been lynched (presumably its a bad deal for Armenia)

Nagorno-Karabakh: The Armenian-Azeri '''information wars''' - BBC News

Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia have signed an agreement to end military conflict over the disputed enclave of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called the deal "incredibly painful both for me and both for our people".

It comes after six weeks of fighting between Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenians.

The region is internationally recognised as Azerbaijani, but has been run by ethnic Armenians since 1994.

In that year, a truce was signed after fighting but not a peace deal.

A number of ceasefire agreements have been brokered since fighting broke out again in September, but all of them have failed.

    What has been agreed?

The peace deal takes effect on Tuesday from 01:00 local time (21:00 GMT Monday).

Under the new deal, Azerbaijan will hold onto areas of Nagorno-Karabakh that it has taken during the conflict. Armenia has also agreed to withdraw from several other adjacent areas over the next few weeks.

During a televised online address, Russia's President Vladimir Putin said that 1,960 Russian peacekeepers would be deployed to patrol frontlines.

Turkish will also take part in the peacekeeping process, according to Azeri President Ilham Aliyev, who joined President Putin during the address.

The demonstrators have severely beaten Armenia’s NA chairman Ararat Mirzoyan.

They saw his convoy, attacked and pulled him out of the car.

The demonstrators were demanding to tell them where Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan is.

Armenia’s NA chairman Ararat Mirzoyan is being operated on, his life is not at risk, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said live on Facebook.

The PM said the NA chairman and his family need words of support.

“Dear Ararat, dear Gohar, dear Arpi, dear Samvel, I hug and kiss you, everything will be fine,” Pashinyan said.

Yep so I was right. The man was beaten by a mob until he was unconscious and presumed dead. But he hasn't technically died of his injuries yet , which makes you think it wasn't a lynching. You just happen to be fucking ridiculous and wrong.

Good Lord, you really are pathetic. What happened to make you so insecure that you cannot accept being wrong? That makes you double down on everything you consider a slight?

Poor Skidmark . . . never good enough were you. At school . . . your results always were a disappointment, weren't they? Your work ethic? Disappointing. Girls? Hence your dependence on paying for sex, even travelling to where it's cheap and you can stand out.

Yea, sucks to be you, Skidmark. No wonder you are so despondent

Putin the peace maker. The anti Russian US proxy govt that came into power in 2018 is collapsing. Russia is deploying peace keeping forces in all 3 regions of the conflict.

UN commission on refugees will oversee it

Russia retains good relations with Azerbaijan.

Smart Putin, step into the fray with two yellow cards, so that both sides reconcile their differences by reviling you.

From here it looks like a great outcome, Armenia loses a piece of land taken in conflict that was never recognised as theirs, in return for security assurances, Azeris have no reason to complain considering they got what they claimed to want, and Erdogan gets put in his box yet again, as expected, now has to figure where to shift thousands of jihadis he imported from the Syrian humiliation, via the Libyan humiliation, that don't really care where they go as long as he's paying them in $$ not lira.

    2 yellow cards. Good analogy

Erdogans jihad mercenaries get paid $1000 a month. Which is a small fortune for where these men some from.

[this analysis was written for the Unz Review]
A lot has happened very rapidly in the past two days and I will begin this analysis by a few bullet points summarizing what just happened (not in any particular order, including chronological):

    • The war which has just ended was a real bloodbath and it has seen more casualties (counting both sides) than what the Soviet Union lost in 10 years of warfare in Afghanistan
    • This war is now over, Russian peacekeepers have already been deployed along the line of contact. So far, neither side has dared to resume hostilities (more about that below).
    • There have been two days of celebrations in Baku where President Aliev has declared that the war was a triumph for Azeri forces and that Pashinian got nothing. He is right.
    • The Azeris are now declaring that they want compensation from Armenia.
    • There are now Turkish forces in Azerbaijan and Russian and Turkish forces have created a joint committee to coordinate actions.
    • Erdogan has insisted that he wanted Turkey to send in peacekeepers, but Putin has categorically rejected this demand: like any other state, Azerbaijan has the undisputed right to invite foreign forces on its territory, but these forces will not have the status and rights of a peacekeeping force.
    • Violent riots have broken out in Erevan where violent mobs have stormed government buildings, beaten officials and sacked the Parliament.
    • Seventeen Armenian opposition parties have declared that they want a committee of national salvation and the resignation of Pashinian.
    • Nobody knows where Pashinian is hiding, but he seems to still be somewhere in Armenia.
    • These mobs also destroyed the Soros offices in Erevan and they are now looking for Pashinian “the traitor” to lynch him.
    • Pashinian has complained on Twitter that his offices were sacked, that a computer, his driver license and, I kid you not, a bottle of perfume (poor perfumed baby!) were stolen.
    • The Russian peacekeeping force will be constituted of subunits of the 15th Independent Motorized Rifle Brigade which itself is part of the 2nd Guards Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District. It will include about 2000 armed soldiers, APCs and IFVs, specialized vehicles (EW, C3I, etc.), drones and air defense systems.
    • Russians peacekeepers will stay deployed in this area for no less than 5 years.
    • Russia will now control both the Nagorno-Karabakh (NK) corridor and the Nakhichevan corridor.
