Buckingham Palace has confirmed Princess Beatrice has married in a private ceremony with her grandmother Queen Elizabeth II in attendance.

Beatrice married real estate entrepreneur Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday morning (local time) at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge in Windsor.

The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and other close family members attended, adhering to COVID-19 guideline, according to Buckingham Palace.

"The private wedding ceremony of Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi took place at 11am on Friday 17th July at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, Windsor," Buckingham Palace said in a statement.

"The small ceremony was attended by The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and close family.

"The wedding took place in accordance with all relevant Government Guidelines."

Beatrice is the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, but it was not immediately made known if both attended.

The princess will become stepmother to Mr Mozzi's young son Wolfie.

In February, the palace originally announced Princess Beatrice and Mr Mozzi would marry on May 29 at the Chapel Royal of St James's Palace, but the coronavirus pandemic forced a change of plan.

The chapel was the location for the wedding of Beatrice’s great-great-great-great grandmother Queen Victoria to Prince Albert in 1840.

Beatrice's younger sister, Princess Eugenie, married wine merchant Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle's St George's Chapel in October 2018.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle wed in the same location in May of that year.
