    • Almost half the restaurants and hotels surveyed by the Dubai Chamber expected to go out of business in the next month alone, with three-quarters of travel and tourism companies expecting to close in that time.

    That's got to affect the demand for English Teachers in the sand pit
    ...I suspect that most of the casualties will be businessmen from elsewhere rather than teachers...and probably sub-continental laborers when building projects and mall sales slow down...

    A lot less kids in expensive private schools.

    A lot of nice new motors left in the airport car park with the keys in.

    Unpaid rent, utility and phone bills.

    And a lot of kids having to adapt from a cushy private school to the local comprehensive or equivalent I fancy.
