Meth, Murder, and Madness: The System That Buried Ahmaud Arbery

The Brunswick DA’s office’s handling of Ahmaud Arbery’s killing is not the first time local law enforcement has come under scathing scrutiny for “egregious and wicked” dealings.

    Interesting article, thank you.

^ Yup - there are so many examples of this.

I've told this tale before, but I don't think you were back on here the last time.

My brother in law is Texan but does a lot of business across the country; he's liberal but he has to know when to speak his mind because, well, old skool USA isn't very liberal, really. And it could end up with him losing his job.

A couple of years ago he was in New York, enjoying the place and the atmosphere, but he had decided to settle down at the hotel bar before a big meeting the next day when an old Texan boy (also on business) recognised his accent.

Second question, after introducing himself, "Are you a nigger lover?"

It's not strange for him to hear this shit and people forget that segregation was only 60 years ago in this country.

The sad thing is that this isn't surprising.

Yup - black GIs were treated better in Europe than they were back in the US . . . ridiculous.

I've only ever lived/worked in the midwest, northeast and west/northwest where this is not common . . . but have been down south. It's different and it's not an act and it's not cute a la tv shows with the 'funny' racist/misogynistic/bigoted old uncle or the General Lee. These people are serious in their hatred and deep-seeded racism

Systemic racism is still widespread down south. I have travelled down south on many occasions on business mostly because I would not ever consider vacationing in most of those areas of the country.

While in the small town of Valdosta, Georgia I put off by how segregated the town was and the white residents were openly racist. It is common place in just about all the places down south I visited.

On another trip to Houston I was invited to a friends parents home (his father was a prominent Houston attorney) during Dinner it was mentioned I was from Seattle. His mother asked "what is it like living around all those homosexuals."

After dinner the men retired to the outside deck for cigars and bourbon were my buddies father proudly claimed to be a descendant of Sam Houston himself. He then went on to proudly boast that his father once shot a nigger for looking at his wife.

Just a couple of examples of the racist things I encountered while traveling down there. Needless to say I was always glad to get out of there and get back home.

he's right....and while it might not be true that "you'll never know until you've been there", it certainly helps...especially for dodgy sexpats who don't read, family man.

for the last few generations, georgia has not really been considered a 'southern state' like alabama, missisissippi or even south carolina which is located geographically to the north of georgia.

Precisely, Dill . . . but nice attempt at distancing yourself from every other one of your posts where you were simply proven wrong and shown o be a racist by others.

Florida is not seen as a southern state, like Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama etc... just ask any American. It is a state inhabited by millions of snowbirds and NYC retirees as well as millions of Hispanics and Cubans - try to get an inbred hillbilly spouting his racist shit there and he'll not see the next day.

Yes. That is what I mean by knowing the country and not just looking at a map or thinking the 2nd amendment to the constitution allows people to defend themselves with guns.

Thank for the quote - who are you quoting? Certainly not me as you're just making shit up a la Buttplug. These are my posts that allude to knowing the place - show me the quote or the absolute nature of my words:

I can understand ray and PH getting in a tizzy, it seems there are numerous definitions.

Not that I mentioned it was a southern state anyway, but it's definitely a racist one on account of all the old white fuckers that retired there.

Northern Florida and the panhandle are definitely Southern. Cracker central. Get south past Orlando and you get to the mix of different ethnicities.

Don’t quite know how Georgia wouldn’t be considered Deep South. I mean, we have Atlanta but that’s it.

    Hi

Born and raised here in Florida (South Florida/Miami). Still own a couple of pieces of property (south and central Florida) and still call it home.

And most (not all) are wonderful and have been an asset to the state.

But some others might fit right in (deep south mentality. Nothing wrong with our southern hospitality)………

Miami-Dade/Broward/Palm Beach/Monroe Counties, Central Florida and a small part of the west coast are fine (see the map below). However, outside those areas listed and a few other spotted (low population) areas the girlfriend will not leave my side. There’s a reason,……..she looks Hispanic (dark hair and eyes). When in South Florida most everyone speaks to her in Spanish (first contact). I feel comfortable when she’s driving by herself (or with friends) in the Miami/SE Florida area, after showing her certain neighborhoods she should not pass through (no one should late nights or early mornings).

She also understands (under the current situation) she doesn’t want to visit any health facility, unless it was in South Florida. She’s Asian.

    Yup, sounds about right.

One of my best friends at university in Chicago married a baptist preacher's daughter in Clearwater. I was the best man. No alcohol. No lewd or even mildly testy stories . . . I'm sure half of them were related, they came from all parts of Florida as Clearwater is quite fun and cosmopolitan. We went to Pier 60 for a some imbibing and fun afterwards

Suffice it to say, Florida may be in the south geographically but it isn't Georgia, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, Missouri etc..

So, yes. It takes a bit of knowledge of the US to understand societal issues, not just a look at a map of the 48 contiguous states

Also bullshit. Armed or not is irrelevant.

Under Georgia law, someone who isn’t a sworn police officer can arrest and detain another person only if a felony is committed in the presence of the arresting citizen.

So, another nail i the murderers' coffins. Hew as jogging, not committing a felony. No citizen's arrest allowed, let alone murder.

Why is every one of your posts angled at justifying his murder by racist scum? Every time you are proven wrong, yet you just move on to the next apologist 'whattabout' in a very Buttplug-esque style.

Now he is 'casing out' a building site . . . or was it someone else? Anyway. they all look the same, eh.
On camera . . . providing it was him, did your two murdering mates see this video before shooting him?

    So your claims on:
2nd Amendment ("The right to bear arms is, as is the right to use them in self defense." - wrong
    Armed citizen's arrest? - wrong
Casing a building site - wrong
'Quoting' me: "You'll never know until you've been there" - wrong
    . . . etc ad infinitum . . .

    Any more red herrings?

"I don't need to be American to understand that law". True, you don't. You just need to know the law.

What I find bizarre is just how subservient and weak these Georgian blacks are. The only reaction that is truly appropriate in this case, a murder committed by a white, racist retired local law officer and his son whose prosecution was waived by a corrupted Sheriff's office, would be for the local black population to combine and with suitable weaponry track down the assailants and then lynch them from the nearest tree before laying seige to the Sheriff's office, tarring and feathering the white redneck police trash expelled therefrom, and then burning the place down.

Until blacks learn that in these southern, redneck, nazi scum states they are still at war and must retaliate, eye for an eye etc, they will forever remain oppressed.

Shooting the odd whitey pig police officer keeps the scumbags honest.
