    Economic inequality

OXFAM BRIEFING PAPER – JANUARY 2020

Economic inequality is out of control. In 2019, the world’s billionaires, only 2,153 people, had more wealth than 4.6 billion people

When man was living in a cave, he was rich.
When that man had water nearby and soil for a crop, then he was the new rich.

When man got a horse, he was rich.
When he swapped that horse for a car, he was rich and the man with a horse was poor.

Wealth is relative measure. Good luck to the men and women who have worked hard, took some risks and made sacrifices to get ahead in this world. If the wealth has been gained honestly,, then good luck to them.

What I don't like is a person like the man who owns Amazon, who treats his workers like robots to increase efficiency and his profits.
    Just my 2c worth.

Whatever tax policies are enacted to help distribute the wealth, I just hope that being rich does not become a bad or shameful thing.

Hard work, new ideas, high intelligence, super human discipline ... whatever the ingredients for becoming rich ... should be encouraged, promoted and celebrated, along with the success of achieving wealth.

Along with such wealth though comes responsibilities. Something I wonder about: should expectations for what those responsibilities are be enforced, encouraged, or simply hoped for by those who control a country's policy and power?

Yes. Its completely out of control. It is the 1920's and 30's out there.

Why ? Its all the result of the most insane central bank balance sheet expansion in peace time history. Never in history has the whole world been without a gold benchmark and printing money at the same time. The result of money printing at first , is rising asset prices for the super rich. And at the same time, rising prices of necessities for the middle and lower class.

This money printing also distorts and deforms the entire economy. This is what we see with Amazon and all of these things that sell side Wall St. huckster scum who tell us that this is progress. Its not. Its all the result of crony capitalists binging on the printed money.

Read up on the hyperinflation of the 30's because that's where we are. Germany had a phony crackup boom in the first few years too.
    Just look at these correlations.

But not to forget the suffering of the rich people...

Analysis Ties Hacking of Bezos’ Phone to Saudi Leader’s Account
Investigators said the phone of Jeff Bezos, the Amazon chief, began behaving strangely after he received a video from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s WhatsApp account.

(luckily, hacking just his phone, not his body)

Jeff Bezos with Lauren Sanchez at an Amazon event this month in Mumbai, India.

SEATTLE — A forensic analysis of Jeff Bezos’ cellphone found with “medium to high confidence” that the Amazon chief’s device was hacked after he received a video from a WhatsApp account reportedly belonging to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

After Mr. Bezos, who also owns The Washington Post, got the video over the WhatsApp messaging platform in 2018, his phone began sending unusually large volumes of data, according to a report summing up investigators’ findings, which was reviewed by The New York Times.

The investigators believed Prince Mohammed was used as a conduit because the message would not raise suspicions if it came from him, said a person familiar with the investigation, who declined to be identified because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.

According to the report, Mr. Bezos received a message from the crown prince’s account in late 2018 that suggested that the prince had intimate knowledge of Mr. Bezos’ private life.

Wouldn't be surprised, reckon the major powers are riddled with unidentified intruders, while the minor ones are open house.

Not that I would fall for "the orange haired [at][at][at][at]", do you truly think he (or any other POTUS) could impose sanctions (or anything) on the country that has been the utmost friendly power with the US powerhouse for nearly a century?

    (Just a thought...)
