Police open fire after Ukrainian ambassador's car rammed in west London
Police opened fire on a vehicle outside the Ukrainian embassy in west London after the driver deliberately rammed into the official car of the country's UK ambassador, the embassy has said.
Police were called to the scene in the Holland Park area at around 10am and attempted to block the offending vehicle, but it continued to hit the car parked outside the embassy.
An official statement from the embassy said police "were forced to open fire on the perpetrator's vehicle", and "the culprit was apprehended and taken to a police station".
No staff were injured, it added.
The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that officers opened fire in the area but have not yet commented further.
