Could be hoping that there was a legal fault in the collection of the DNA or whatever and it couldn't be used as evidence come the trial.

There was an Irish judge Brian Curtin nabbed with 200+ images of child porn on his computer. Got off as the search happened just outside the 7 day search warrant. Was a bit of a public brouhaha as he couldn't be removed and continued as a judge until just passing the minimum time needed for a full pension.

If so, and can still feel somethings, obviously having the knowledge of a 3 year old would have no knowledge or understanding of sex/rape. So could possibly just feel sex without being able to compute or understand what's going on. All a bit weird, really.
