HA! Klondyke is definitely not,...a "harrybarracuda"!

Staying on OP topic. The Parliamentary Halls of Ottawa will surely echo, ...w/profound regrets,...regardless of The Bilderberg influence,
...for having become "involved" with those latest (south of their borders)....rounds of ...schizophrenic messes.

As a gesture of patriotic kindness (only), I was about to give you that clue.

Then again, ^ Mr. Cujo ^,...you've just confirmed my father's firm conviction, again...

He said..."Being nice to the average likes of those menfolk,...is akin to spitting against the wind",...guaranteed.

Thus, I invite you to get that "clue" from your own (red-necked) brother, Harry (the trout) Barracuda,...instead. Good luck w/ that...

Canadian Citizen Being Punished for Working Illegally – Beijing

    "
A third Canadian citizen has recently been detained in China after a row erupted between the two countries over the arrest of an executive of the tech giant Huawei in Vancouver, according to media reports.
A Canadian national is undergoing "administrative punishment" for working illegally, China's Foreign Ministry has stated. There is clear consular communication between Canada and China, ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying told a daily news briefing.

Ties between Canada and China soured after Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of its founder, was arrested on 1 December on suspicion of failing to comply with the US sanctions against Iran. She is facing extradition."

If they fail to have the correct "stamps", are they "branded' accordingly?

Or given a few days/weeks/months in an immigration camp to ensure a "proper" investigation can be held to ascertain their "status" accurately, as occurs all over the world every day of the year.

It appears the third Canadian is a drug trafficker.

China court orders retrial for Canadian jailed for drug smuggling

BEIJING (Reuters) - A Chinese court ordered a retrial of a Canadian citizen on drug smuggling charges on Saturday after prosecutors said his sentence of 15 years was too light - a case that could further test relations between Beijing and Ottawa.

Tensions between the two governments have been high since Canada’s arrest of a high-ranking Chinese executive at the request of the United States this month, followed by China’s detention of two Canadian citizens on suspicion of endangering state security.

Robert Lloyd Schellenberg had lodged an appeal after being handed a 15-year sentence on Nov. 20 in the northeastern city of Dalian, the high court for the province of Liaoning said in a statement, adding that he was to have been deported after serving his sentence.

At the appeal hearing, prosecutors said the sentence was too light and improper, arguing Schellenberg was highly likely to have been part of a international drugs smuggling operation and had played a major role in smuggling the drugs, the statement said.

The court said it accepted this argument and ordered a retrial. It added that Canadian diplomats were in court for the appeal.

In Ottawa, the foreign ministry said in a statement that it has been aware of the case for several years and would continue providing consular assistance to Schellenberg and his family. It gave no more details.

It was not immediately clear who Schellenberg’s lawyer was or when the retrial may take place.

A Dalian government news portal said this week Schellenberg had smuggled “an enormous amount of drugs” into China. Drugs offences are routinely punished severely in China.

A Briton caught smuggling heroin was executed in 2009, prompting a British outcry over what it said was the lack of any mental health assessment.

In one development that could lessen tensions, Ottawa said on Friday that a citizen who was detained in China this month had returned to Canada after being released.

A Canadian government source identified the citizen as teacher Sarah McIver. China’s Foreign Ministry said this month that McIver was undergoing “administrative punishment” for working illegally.

McIver was the third Canadian to be detained by China following the Dec. 1 arrest in Vancouver of Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of the Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. Canada had said there was no reason to believe that McIver’s detention was linked to the earlier arrests.

Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland did not mention McIver last week in calling for the release of the other two Canadians detained on suspicion of endangering state security. They have each only been allowed to see Canadian diplomats once since being detained.

China’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement it was aware of reports McIver had been released, and referred further questions to the “relevant authority”.

Neither China nor Canada has drawn a direct connection between Meng and the cases of the two other Canadians.

China has demanded Canada free Meng, who is fighting extradition to the United States, where she would face fraud charges that carry a maximum sentence of 30 years jail for each charge. Meng has said she is innocent. "

Possibly all the plane seats were being purchased by the Canadian mules. One hope the Chinese have a gender neutral cell available for him/her/it.

    Another chinky spy caught red-handed.

Poland's security services say a Chinese businessman and a Polish man, both employed in telecoms, have been arrested for spying. The Chinese national, Wang Weijing, works for Huawei, according to a source with knowledge of the case.

The company told the BBC it was aware of the situation and was looking into it.

Huawei has faced scrutiny over alleged links to China's intelligence services.

Its chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou - the daughter of its founder - was arrested in Canada last month and faces extradition to the US on charges of breaking Iran sanctions.

The two individuals were arrested in Poland on Tuesday following a lengthy investigation, a spokesman for the security services told the BBC.
A person with knowledge of the case confirmed that a Huawei employee called Wang Weijing - also known as Stanislaw Wang - had been arrested but not charged.

According to a LinkedIn profile, Mr Wang is a sales director at the firm and worked as an attache at China's embassy in Poland from 2006-11.

Stanislaw Zaryn, a spokesperson for Poland's Internal Security Agency (ISA), told Reuters that Mr Wang's arrest "doesn't have anything to do with the company he works for".

A second man, Piotr D, was a former employee of the country's security services and had been working in telecoms, the BBC's Adam Easton in Warsaw reports.

Polish television reports that Piotr D left Poland's internal security agency (the ABW) following allegations of corruption, but was never formally charged.

On Thursday, a Warsaw court agreed to prosecutors' requests to arrest the men for three months. If found guilty of spying, they face up to 10 years in prison.

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it was "highly concerned" about the arrests.

TVP reported that Huawei's office in Poland had been searched by the ABW, along with the offices of mobile provider Orange Polska where Piotr D reportedly worked.

Last year, Orange Polska worked with Huawei to roll out next-generation 5G mobile networks in Poland.

In a statement, Huawei said it "complies with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries where it operates, and we require every employee to abide by the laws and regulations in the countries where they are based."

Orange said in a statement that the Polish security services had gathered material related to an employee, but it did not know if the investigation was linked to the employee's professional work.

Both men's homes had also been searched during the investigation.

Chinese tech giant Huawei is at the centre of several diplomatic rows, most spurred by concerns over security.

Under Chinese law, firms are compelled to "support, co-operate with and collaborate in national intelligence work".

Its media-shy founder, Ren Zhengfei, is also a former engineer in China's army and joined the Communist Party in 1978.

As a result, critics argue China may be using Huawei as a proxy to help hack attacks, eavesdrop on conversations or gain high-level access to sensitive networks.

New Zealand, Australia and the US have all barred the company from involvement in their national 5G networks.
