    That's a sign.

How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power
    Sat 25 Sep 2004

Rumours of a link between the US first family and the Nazi war machine have circulated for decades. Now the Guardian can reveal how repercussions of events that culminated in action under the Trading with the Enemy Act are still being felt by today's president

George Bush's grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany.

The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.

His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy.

How would we do that? I seriously doubt one poster on here based in Thailand watches domestic US news.

There's an adage,...when a U.S. citizen truly desires to see the real U.S.A., then said citizen needs to live,...the Expat Life,...abroad.

Re: watching U.S. domestic television news broadcast mediums (readily available in Thailand, as well),...I'll happily pass,...and/or take a rain-check,...instead.

Kindly tune into CGTN.COM, for a quality-level comparative view,...just for one example. Note the profound comparative "differences",...in broadcast character/content/quality...

LT...by any chance, do your thoughts on the Bush clan have any connection to the Nugan Hand and BCCI debacles? And the repercussions of those in Oz...

I read the OP as being focused upon the "deeds" of GHWB, together w/ those deeds of his immediate off-spring, of which he (GHW) was of a profound influence,...in recent current events.

Reaching back in history, to the time, and deeds of Prescott Bush,...is a totally different (although related) topic of discussion. That's just my considered point of view. I meant no offense,...ok?

Come Trump's demise, though, I think Obama will struggle to say anything honest and nice. It will be more like, "He managed, admirably, to cast off his orange hue and look slightly more natural during his presidency..."

Your understanding of authorial intent is right up there with Chitty's appreciation of cuisine, so pardon me if I disagree with that assessment.

Hopefully CSFFan can let us know.

And let's face it, voting for GWB would be far from the most inexplicable decision CSF has made.

Saying GWB was the greatest American president is absurd to say the least especially since he was a one term president. JFK, FDR, Eisenhower, Teddy Roosevelt, all far better presidents of the same century. My personal fav was Eisenhower for his warnings against the military industrial complex and the fact that he soaked the rich taxing their income at 90%. He presided over an America where the middle class was at its strongest. Has been a steady decline since he left office.
