If he was that connected with the British establishment he would not have been hauled into court and fined for having a smoke on a BA Concorde flight.

There is no sympathy for the porcine Harvey as he screwed over most that he dealt with - especially after the contract was signed !

It's not the 'casting couch' scandal, that is only the mechanics that is/has derailed him. it's his cheating business ethics.

All the knives are out - and sharpened !

This has certainly opened a can of worms in the movie industry. When an actress is told she needs to be naked on camera kissing a naked male actor in bed simulating or having actual sex if she wants the part, Is that not some form of sexual coersion? Would that make the actor/producer/director liable for prosecution?
If a producer tells the actor to get the part a sexual service is required and she is free to make the choice or not is that at least not similar? I am not talking of forcible sexual conduct, that is plainly rape. I should say I don't condone it. Before the delighted to be outraged work themselves into a rage foaming at the mouth, I just am interested in the opinion on this from other TDers. I am not trying to justify anything.

Any nudity/sex is already in the script and after reading the script it's the actresses choice if she wants to audition for the part, it is not suggested after she has accepted and signed for the part. SAG ..the Screen Actors Guild protect their actors and won't tolerate this behaviour from any producer / director.

Situations have arisen when the actress doesn't want to do a steamy shot because she's now not getting along with the actor or director ..or she's having a bad day. Then it's up to the director or producer to fix it

That's the 'casting couch', this 'transaction' has been applied for thousands of years across all occupations and situations as sex for meat.

For every actress that declines there are others who will be elbowing her out of the way to get her name in lights in the bedroom.
    Some women are rapacious.

Rikers Island, Harvey Weinstein's new home, is a byword for prison brutality

Disgraced Hollywood mogul due to transfer to the notorious New York prison as he awaits sentence for rape and sexual assault

Rikers Island, one of the largest correctional facilities in the world, contains eight jails within its 400-acre site. Photograph: John Moore/Getty ImagesHarvey Weinstein, feted for decades at Hollywood parties and galas, is set to become one of about 7,000 people held at the notorious Rikers Island jail in New York.

Harvey Weinstein tried to silence and blame victims. At trial it no longer worked

One of the largest correctional facilities in the world, Rikers has become a symbol of brutality in the largest US city. Investigations by reporters and government watchdogs have identified problems with how the jail treats the mentally ill, juveniles and anyone who falls sick.
Last year, Layleen Polanco, a transgender woman, was found dead in her cell two months after being sent to Rikers because she could not afford $500 in bail.
Most inmates at Rikers are awaiting trial and cannot afford bail. The population is mostly poor and black or Latino.
The most notorious case in recent history at the complex is the death of Kalief Browder, a teenager from the Bronx who was accused of stealing a backpack.

For three years, Browder was held at Rikers, waiting for a trial. He spent half that time in solitary confinement and was beaten by corrections officers. He attempted to kill himself multiple times before his case was dropped and he was released in 2013. He killed himself two years later, at 22.
A year after Browder was released, the Associated Press detailed how medical care at the jail, or the lack of it, had been cited as a factor in at least 15 deaths in five years.
Advocates have complained that Rikers is ill-equipped to handle people with mental illness, who in 2014 made up 40% of its population. In 2014 a homeless ex-marine essentially baked to death in a hot cell, a week after an arrest for trespassing.
Also in 2014, the US justice department found that facilities for juveniles at Rikers were extremely violent and unsafe. A DoJ report said teenage inmates were subject to “rampant use of unnecessary and excessive force”.
In October 2019, New York politicians voted to close the jail by 2026.

The six women who accused Harvey Weinstein at his trial, and what they said

It is possible Weinstein could be held at Rikers until it closes, though a number of factors will affect the length of his stay.
Together, the two sex crimes of which the film producer was convicted carry a possible sentence of 29 years. Sentencing is scheduled for 11 March. But Weinstein also faces charges in Los Angeles. It is not clear how prosecutors there will proceed.
Weinstein was meant to go to Rikers, which sits in the East River between the Bronx and Queens, from the courtroom in lower Manhattan. But he was rerouted on Monday night to a prison ward at Bellevue hospital. His lead attorney, Donna Rotunno, told reporters he was sent there because of chest pains, palpitations and high blood pressure.
The judge said he would ask that Weinstein be held in Rikers’ infirmary, one of eight jails on the 400-acre complex.

Probably Israel. Australia has been try to extradite a woman on child sex charges for a few years but she has been able to stop the extradition with stories of being mentally ill despite video footage proving otherwise.

    Source: Google

Israel has an extradition treaty with the US, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Fiji, South Africa, and Swaziland. Crimes committed by Israeli citizens abroad could be prosecuted in Israel, while Israeli citizens are exempt from extradition unless their crimes were committed before they obtained citizenship.

Being Jewish, Weinstein is entitled to Israeli citizenship if he doesn't already have it. Israeli citizens who are also residents of Israel will be extradited to stand trial in the requesting state on condition that they can choose to return to Israel to serve any custodial sentence.

    -----

Despite having treaties with the US, Bolivia, Ecuador, Iceland, Nicaragua, Switzerland, Venezuela and Zimbabwe have been known to refuse US extradition requests.

Don't forget when New York finishes with him, he walks out of jail into the hands of a California marshall.

No chance, he's got two ways of leaving jail: As an older man with his belongings in a plastic bag, or like Jeffrey Epstein.

Plus he might not have money left as he was busy desperately paying bints off for fortunes not to testify against him.

A key witness against Harvey Weinstein is in hospital after being run down by a car. Dr. Barbara Ziv, a forensic psychologist, explained why Weinstein's victims stayed friendly with him even after he raped them. Dr. Ziv's testimony was considered crucial to the jury reaching a guilty verdict. The website Law & Crime reported Dr. Ziv's accident "may be seen as suspicious by some, given the timing."

And there's still 28 years worth of charges in LA if he lives long enough to get out....
