There will be no peace until the Palestineans accept the right of Israel to exist. There was a peace deal on the table that would have given them anything they could ever get. Arafat did not sign it because he knew the extremists in his organization would kill him like they killed Sadat.

Instead they waged war after war after war and lost them all. That got to have consequences they now have to deal with.

The Palestineans know they can wage war and once they are thoroughly beaten, they can go whining to the UN and get a peace deal, every time.

Israel can not afford to lose once, they would be erased.

Didn't that happen years ago? Diplomatic recognition of Israel in a formal sense accompanies a peace accord, both with Palestine and much of the Arab league. Fair enough.
It comes back to the same thing- one larger combined state, or two smaller seperate states. "oh but it's much more complicated than that". Bullshit, no it isn't.

After Hamas won the 2006 election for the Palestinian Legislative Council, Israel and Egypt tightened the closure of Gaza's borders. Israel says the reason for the restrictions on import of goods into the Gaza Strip is to pressure Hamas, which does not recognise Israel and backs attacks on its citizens. Construction materials including metal pipes, steel and cement are banned, because they can be used for building rockets and in constructing underground bunkers and tunnels.

In September 2007, after an intensification of Qassam rocket attacks, Israel declared Gaza "hostile territory," and Israel stopped the supply of electricity, fuel, and other supplies into Gaza. The objective of the blockade was to pressure Hamas into stopping the rocket attacks and to deprive them of the supplies necessary for the continuation of rocket attacks. It argued that following the takeover of Gaza by Hamas and the intensification of Qassam rocket attacks, it is not legally responsible for Gaza and not obliged to help a hostile territory beyond whatever is necessary to avoid a humanitarian crisis. Egypt also closed the Rafah Border Crossing in June 2007, maintaining that it cannot fully open the Rafah crossing since completely opening the border would represent Egyptian recognition of the Hamas control of Gaza, undermine the legitimacy of the Palestinian National Authority and consecrate the split between Gaza and the West Bank.

    Nice . . .

And anyone who has ever lived/worked in the Middle East (in the continent of Asia,Backspit) knows how the locals treat their Palestinian brethren - like shit. The Palestinians hate them for it.

If only the Arab states, some among the wealthiest in the world, others self-proclaimed leaders of Islam . . . would do more to help.

But then one would also need to accept help at times, or at least 'fresh' ideas

Hamas chief rejects establishing Palestinian state in Gaza, parts of Sinai

    Source: Xinhua| 2019-04-16 21|Editor: xuxin

GAZA, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Ismail Haniyeh, leader of the Islamic Hamas movement, announced on Tuesday that his movement rejects the idea of establishing a Palestinian state in the Gaza Strip and parts of the Sinai Peninsula.
Haniyeh made the remarks during a session of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) held in Gaza.
"The Gaza Strip won't expand south into the Peninsula of Sinai. The Gaza Strip will expand north into the land of Palestine," Haniyeh told Hamas members of the PLC.
"We reject the relocation of the Palestinian people in various Arab states and we reject an alternative homeland in Sinai or in Jordan," he stressed.

"We reject the cancellation of our people's rights of return," the Hamas chief concluded.

    Does this answer your question?

The battle of the “Sword of Jerusalem” has “brought the Muslims’ attention back to Jerusalem and the holy sites. I kiss the hands that are carrying the weapons of Jihad (holy war) to defend Jerusalem and its holy sites. We will never be satisfied until this entity (Israel) is removed from the blessed land of Palestine and the liberation of every grain of its soil. In an indirect reference to the Palestinian Authority and Arab countries that signed peace treaties with Israel, the Iranian military commander said that those who “sold Palestine represent only themselves and will regret their betrayal.”

Absolutely! Some people need to be knocked senseless before they come to their senses.
    Germany, Serbia, Japan etc.

But when at the end the loosers (Krauts) come out on top and the so called winners (Russian, Serbia etc.) have still not developed you need to ask yourself why.

By the way, Serbia (Slavs) got their asses kicked twice.

Not in any real sense. Certainly not with Hamas.

The Palestinean Authority in the West Bank, in a very limited sense. Not enough to finalize a peace treaty.

Another problem there. Even if there were a peace treaty with the Palestinean West Bank Authority, they have no means and no willingness to enforce it over Hamas.

What's the logic in your statement? The Palestinians have lived in their country for generations, same as other nations in the world.
They have been only unlucky that their country was ruled by English, similarly as other unlucky nations in the Levant areas.

And for the favor to house Jews coming from anywhere - mainly from countries where they suffered under Germans - their generations had been punished, not the Germans.

And when a reasonable solution was to be settled in 1948 - after what the English mismanaged - a good man who saved thousands Jews from Hitler, Swedish Count Folke, he was Bernadotte assassinated... (not by Palestinians)

the palestinians need to face the stark truth about themselves, instead of going on about their historical complaints.

the palestinian exodus of 73 years ago was not some one off event that has never happened before in human history.

many groups were forcibly removed from their homelands in the 1940s. sikhs, muslims and hindus from the punjab, tartars from the crimea, jaoanese and korean kurils, chechens, inguish and balkans and more. and all those displaced peoples except one chose to make the best of their new environs and have succeded and thrived.

the sole exception are the palestinians, whose militant cadre leaders chose to embrace the terrorist path with little regard for the people they represent, and the rubble strewn shithole that is gaza is all they have to show for it.

after the 2nd world war 3 million germans were forced to leave their homes, making the 300 mile journey westward with only their suitcases. today they and their children represent some of the most successful people in germany.

but tragically it has been the arab states cynical policy to keep the palestinians boiling with hatred instead of moving forward and learning to live in the here and now.

the fact is the state of israel is here to stay and until the palestinian warlords accept that, then the future of the palestinian people will be one of poverty, death and destruction.

had the arab states supported the palestinian people from the beginning they could have helped them to become a successful trading nation with decent infrastructure and pride, as opposed to a 70 year old slum refugee camp, instead they have been used as pawns in an endless battle against the israelis, a battle they can never win.

1948 was indeed a catastrophe for them, as it was for many others. but others have learnt how to deal with the same or worse and have moved onwards and upwards. only the palestinians, pawns to the iranians and hamas, remain in exactly the same position they were in 70 years ago. refugees living in shit.

i also note that the death toll over the past 11 days of bombings is around 250 in palestine and around 25 in israel. israel has built bomb shelters for its people, but in gaza although they have many kilometers of underground tunnels, it would seem these are used for the storage and deployment of rockets and fighters, rather than shelters for the civilian women and children. hamas really do weaponise their innocent people for maximum sympathy from the outside world.

Plenty of exiled Palestinians have done well actually. The richest family in Sth Australia is Palestinian- Peregrine Group, if you want to look them up. Not too bad, considering the patriarch arrived here as a refugee (albeit well educated) around 40 years ago. People like that are hardly the problem- Palestinians under oppressive occupation in their homeland, or of 3rd generation refugee status, are.

The majority of Palestinians do not live in Gaza or a refugee camp either. They live in the West Bank of Palestine, which is under invasion and systematic colonisation from Israel. This appalling babble about Hamas, or there can't be peace until an invaded people stop periodically firing back, is the ultimate strawman. There cannot be peace until the invasion ends (one way or the other).

I mean what you are saying is- what? The Palestinian people should either do nothing, or die while they are being invaded, occupied and systematically dispossessed? How utterly ridiculous. Which of course also leads to the question- what should the world be doing? These 'dispossessed people' you speak of share one thing in common- they are Citizens of the states they reside in. There are no bantustans left in Sth Africa, no apartheid states any more. Except Israel, which somehow the land of 'freedom and democracy' sees fit to run cover for, granting it not only near total impunity for it's ongoing crimes but also in fact subsidising and facilitating the illegal invasion and colonisation of Palestine. The Emperor hath no Clothes.

There is no the logic in your statement?

Palestinians never had and most likely will never have a country. Simple as that!
Normally they would have already packed their bags, like most arabs/muslims arround the world, and flee from their shithole country.
Ask any muslim living abroad, not all too many want to go back.
They even become quite successful once they leave Allah behind.

Same goes for Russian Jews (and non jews) who where lucky enough to flee from their shithole country.

    ^ exactly.

so long as the palestinians remain under the thumb of hamas, hezbollah and the iranians they will forever be no more than disposable canon fodder to the toxic politics that those raghead scumbags inflict on them.

israel does need to give them equality and more to drag them out of the raghead trap. when netanyahu goes it will happen.

By which you mean a nation state, I assume. Neither Israel or Palestine ever had a nation state actually. Until 1947 (I think), when Israel gained UN recognition as a State, following WW2. And considerably more recently (a litany of several years of broken promises), so did Palestine- it's status is specifically a non-member observer State as recognised by the UN, like Taiwan & Vatican. But Palestine is a state under occupation, by Israel. Most of the State of Palestine, Palestinians are prevented from even living on.

So what's it to be Israel (and USA)- one combined state, or two separate states? Ether way, there can never be peace until the situation is resolved. Or are you actually advocating ethnic cleansing and genocide Herman?
