    Russia cutting undersea communication cables?

Such a threat and nobody here concerned?

Could Russia cut undersea communication cables?

The UK's top military officer has warned that Russia could strike a "catastrophic" blow to the economy by targeting communications and internet cables that run under the sea.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach, the chief of the defence staff, said the lines could potentially be cut or disrupted.
    The suggestion raises several questions:
Is that something Russia's likely to do?
What would happen if they - or someone else - did such a thing?

^ Are you insinuating that the "Britain's senior-most military officer" is spreading a "drivel"? And the most respected and "recognized media" BBC either?

Britain's senior-most military officer is warning that an improving Russian navy poses risks to undersea communications and Internet cables, saying any disruption could do "catastrophic" damage to the economy.

Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach said Britain and NATO need to prioritize protecting communications cables running along the seabed between countries and continents to prevent them being severed.

'Why Do You Have This Spy Hysteria?' Putin Asks At Annual News Conference

"That's been invented by those who are in the opposition, people who oppose President Trump, to delegitimize his time in office," Putin said. "It really seems strange to me, because it seems that they don't understand. They undermine their own nation. They limit the powers of the president who's been elected. It means that they don't have respect for those people, those Americans who elected Donald Trump."

Putin said that in political campaigns worldwide, Russian diplomats and other government officials meet with candidates and their campaigns to talk about issues and potential plans.

"They're trying to figure out what those people will do, when and if they come to power," Putin said.

"What's so strange about it?" he asked. "Why do you have this spy hysteria? Russian meddling hysteria?"

They'd use Satellite or other cables until they fixed them.

good question, I guess the silly British and their American cousins miss the good old days when they meant something on the world stage, now we laugh at them with Trump and Brexit

Yawn , bunch of wankers in charge of NATO looking for the big bad bogie.
Oh yes and what about the British nuclear submarine that was ordered by Washington to go into Soviet waters and steal a Russian underwater cable. Cable towed by fishing trawler.
We stole their cable first , in the Cold War.

NATO is being questioned even within the EU parliament,

with the stupid Brits out, the French wants to go ahead with an integrated military command

the best option would be to have Russia included in some kind of European Defense System

Do the UK (and BBC either) have in their job description always to find some "evidence" for use by their Big Brother? E.g. as was the case with "dossier" for Iraq war, Theresa May recently re Russian Meddling, etc?

^ Rather than use evidence the BBC prefers the option of telling lies and repeating them, hoping that the majority will eventually believe them - it does work, still a lot of "sheep' who need to believe!

The sad thing with the BB is that it used to present the truth to a greater extent than it does now! being "British" it is paid for by people of all political persuasions so they are supposed to stay independent, instead they have just become repeaters rather than reporters!

What a load of typical BBC war mongering BULLSHIT.

Why would they? To what end? It's the UK and US cvnts who want a fucking world war, not Russia!

It appears the "Cable" war has already been lost.
    Cable

    1. Informal; the exchange rate between the British pound and the U.S. dollar. This term is used by currency traders, and it originates from the transatlantic cables used to wire the exchange rate between the two currencies in the 19th century.

    2. Informal for the GBP.
