Saudi King’s historic visit to Moscow: Middle East, bilateral issues on table

King Salman of Saudi Arabia is scheduled to arrive in Moscow on Wednesday for the first such visit by a reigning Saudi monarch. He will meet Russian President Putin to discuss bilateral issues, as well as conflicts in north Africa and the Middle East.

Putin and King Salman may discuss defense industry cooperation between the two countries, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday.

“It can be assumed that it will also be on the agenda,” Peskov said when asked about the matter.

Some more weaponry needed? Or the recently bought package not good enough?

Could there be a conflict of interest here ? What with the Saudi's being one of the US friends and allies and Russia the designated enemy.

As the top buyer of US weapons for the last several years Saudi Arabia must be awash with weapons..... Unless they are passing them on to someone else.

But now the CIA has been told to stop supplying weapons to the Syrian rebels I suppose someone has to do it.

It's a shopping trip. They already said in July that they are going to spend billions on Russia arms, although a lot of it might be for "civil defence" *cough*.
