I think Ms Wall's decision to go on a trip in that submarine was a little dubious to say the least. The guy builds rockets and submarines = loony. The surname is a bit of a giveaway Madsen = loony. So who in their right mind would decide to shack up with a loony in his sub?

I reckon the RTP would have put it down to suicide no problem...

Kim Wall case: Murder charge sought for Peter Madsen
    April 23 breaking news BBC

Kim Wall's death: What we know so far

Prosecutors in Denmark say they will bring murder charges against the inventor suspected of killing a Swedish journalist on board his submarine.

They are expected to ask for the new charges when Mr Madsen appears in court in early September.

Ms Wall was last seen alive on 10 August as she departed with Mr Madsen on his self-built underwater vessel.

On Wednesday a headless torso found in waters off Denmark was identified as belonging to Ms Wall.

DNA from the torso - which had been weighted down with metal - matched that on Ms Wall's hairbrush and toothbrush.

Mr Madsen initially said he had dropped her off safely near Copenhagen, but then said she died in an accident and that he had "buried" her at sea.

He denies killing Ms Wall and was initially charged with negligent manslaughter.

Danish police believe Mr Madsen deliberately sank the 40-tonne submarine hours after the search for Ms Wall began.

Her partner had reported that she had not returned from the trip.

Part of her remains were found on a beach south of Copenhagen on Monday.

Danish police are investigating a possible link between the eccentric inventor held over the death of a Swedish reporter and the unsolved murder of a Japanese student in 1986.

The dismembered body of Kim Wall, an award-winning freelance journalist, was found at sea after she disappeared while on board the submarine of Danish businessman Peter Madsen, 46.

Police in Copenhagen said the findings have led them to reopen the case of Kazuko Toyonaga, a 22-year-old Japanese tourist, in case the two killings are linked.

Toyonaga's body was found in separate locations off the waters of the Danish capital a month after she disappeared. Investigators say Wall's body was "deliberately" mutilated and weighed down with a metal object to try and avoid detection.

Mr Madsen denies killing the journalist, and says he dumped her body in the sea south of Copenhagen after she died in an accident. He also denies cutting off her limbs.

He has been held in formal custody since August 12 on suspicion of "negligent manslaughter" Wall was last seen on board Mr Madsen's 60-foot (18-metre) Nautilus submarine on August 10 when she went to interview him. Investigators found traces of her blood inside the vessel.

Danish prosecutors are seeking to charge him with murder and have until September 5 to request an extension of his custody. Mr Madsen, who describes himself as an "inventepreneur" on his website, is to undergo a psychiatric evaluation. Wall was a freelance journalist who had reported for The New York Times and The Guardian.

Her boyfriend reported her missing a day after the interview with Mr Madsen. That same day, Mr Madsen was rescued from waters between Denmark and Sweden shortly before his submarine sank. Investigators recovered and searched the sunken vessel, which police believe Mr Madsen sank intentionally.

The Nautilus was the biggest private sub ever made when Mr Madsen built it in 2008 with help from a group of volunteers. The volunteers were engaged in a dispute over the Nautilus between 2014 and 2015 before members of the board decided to transfer the vessel's ownership to Mr Madsen, according to the website.

In 2015, Mr Madsen had sent a text message to two members of the board claiming: "there is a curse on Nautilus". "That curse is me.

There will never be peace on Nautilus as long as I exist," Mr Madsen wrote, according to a post written by the volunteers in Danish on the website. Danish police are still searching for the clothes Wall wore on the submarine: an orange fleece, a skirt and white sneakers.

According to her former classmate and close friend Yan Cong, the sneakers had sentimental value. "We sent each other photos of us wearing the sneakers during reporting trips from different parts of the world," Cong said.

"I believe she was wearing them when she went missing." Wall was a graduate of Columbia Graduate School of Journalism who had planned to move to Beijing to pursue her career, Cong said.

Born in 1971, Madsen was raised with his three brothers by their father in a small town on the coast of Zealand, Denmark’s largest island. He told a biographer that his father, a carpenter, was abusive.

Madsen had an early affinity for science -- launching rockets in the schoolyard by the time he was just 15 years old, according to the biography, “Rocket Madsen: Denmark’s Do-It Yourself Astronaut,” written by Thomas Djursing.

“I loved the idea that a fully armed rocket stood behind the school,” Madsen told his biographer. “The school day was my countdown where I constantly looked at my watch thinking ‘T-minus-4 hours,’ ‘T-minus-3 hours,’ etc.”

Following grade school, Madsen began studying engineering at a university, but never completed his degree.
Who is Peter Madsen, the man linked to journalist Kim Wall?s death | Fox News

A 15 year old Peter Madsen at high school making rockets and balloons. Did he meet the 22 year old Japanese tourist, take her back to his workshop, rape her and then cut her body up. Take her body and dump it in the sea.

    New book portrays Raket-Madsen -
    Peter Madsen
The place is cramped in Peter's first submarine, Freya, but there has been room for diving equipment for emergency situations.

In a new book, journalist Thomas Djursing follows the rocket builder Peter Madsen from the advent of a family of conflict and violence through the boys with rocket experiments to the battle today to build a rocket that can send him into space. Read an excerpt from the third chapter of the book.
By Thomas Djursing 22 Nov 2014 at. 16:00

For his inner eye, Peter continues to see the flame from the brothers fireworks kingdom in his wooden trunk while reading about the moon landings in the library. The rockets pull back in him, and in the 7th grade the work begins to build a rocket 'to achieve extreme heights'. From the start it is clear that it is not a small rocket, but a size that extends beyond ordinary fireworks missiles.

Peter can remember how his half-brothers made cannonballs by pilling herbs out of fireworks, and considering doing the same. But Peter needs more kilograms of herbs for his dream of a big rocket and expects it will cost him at least 1,000 dollars if he is to buy fireworks to pile a kilogram of herbs out.

"It was far too expensive to pile things out of witchcraft like any other pearls. Another problem was that I did not know what the white powder in the witches were. Therefore I could not count on it. So I never went that way, because in the start-up phase I discovered that it could not be industrialized. "

Instead, Peter tries to buy chemicals from chemical groups to make his own fuel, but time and time he is rejected because he is 15 years old and private. That's why he founder the fictional company Danish Space Agency, which becomes his tire name every time he orders kilovis of potassium nitrate from chemical companies like Bie & Berntsen, who do not know they are talking to a 15-year-old schooleval who wants to make herbs.

    Arches about Raket-Madsen

In the book 'Raket-Madsen - Denmark's Do-It-Yourself Astronaut', the engineer's journalist Thomas Djursing, rocket builder Peter Madsen, from his ten-year-old lies in his bed thinking about reaching the room for the first experiments with fuel and rockets rains over Høng town. An extreme father forms Peter's bizarre worldview. As the father dies, Peter releases himself from everything and turns on his inner rocket engine. Wildness brings conflicts on all fronts: with colleagues and friends and with a rich man who makes him financially dead forever. Peter feels in battle against the whole world alone with his mission and is close to losing his life as a metal stump goes through his liver. He abandons the rockets for some years and dedicates his life to the construction of submarines, which brings him to dangerous voyages and depths at Bornholm.

In an artist community in Copenhagen he finally finds the same-minded. Here the boundaries are broken. Both between men and women and between technology and art. In that environment, the rocket association Copenhagen Suborbitals, which grows to an enormous popular success, has a clear goal: to send Peter into space. The waxing plant in the association leads to increasingly complicated rockets, and Peter misses control and progress. Out of a violent conflict, Raketmadsens Rum Labor, which with a simple rocket launches, will kick Peter into space from a FLIP bend in the Baltic Sea.

Thomas Djursing (born 1978) is frequently used expert in, among other things, TV 2 NEWS and Go 'tomorrow Denmark and have been following the Danish rocket launches for the last seven years, close as a professional reporter at Ingeniøren. The book about Peter Madsen is based on extensive interviews over several years with the protagonist and interviews with more than 50 of his friends and enemies - including all relevant people in the Danish rocket environment. The book is beautifully illustrated with photos from rocket missions, dives with submarines and original sketches.

'Raket-Madsen - Denmark's Do-It-Yourself Astronaut', 176 pages, 298 kroner, hardback. Published on the publishing house Kølvand in collaboration with Ingeniøren. Graphic layout: Karin Friis Hansen, Estate Media. Can be purchased directly through www.raketmadsen.com or ordered in bookstores. ISBN: 978-87-997640-0-6. Coming November 24th.

»Danish Space Agency ... The name opens so many doors to me. At one point I speak for two hours with an engineer in the Navy Material Command on High Concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide and simply get so much information because he does not know I'm only 15 years old. There are so many stop-signs from family and friends. Everyone wants me to step on the brake. On the one hand, I can understand it, but conversely, the first pages of the good chemical books were always about safety in the experiments. "

"Rocket building is unusual and therefore people automatically stamp it as dangerous while the girls in the class could come back from the handball times time after time with leg and finger damage. They did not tell the adults anything. "

    cross-examination
At Høng Kommuneskole, the physics and chemists begin, and immediately Peter deepens passionately in the subjects. Every hour Peter picks up knowledge, and the best teachers from the parallel class are questioned about possible fuels for rockets when they have a guard in the quay, Peter says.

"There was especially a teacher at my school, Johannes Fischer, who knew everything about chemistry. He did not teach in my class, but in the quarters when he was a guardian, I could go over to him and say something like: 'Ok, Fischer. Today's subject for this courtyard is how we get perchlorates'. Physicists and chemists were crossing every single quarters - and they were always ready to answer. I think the teachers in the subjects were often undermined. "

Johannes Fischer remembers the little Peter and describes him as 'very alive' and 'unusually curious about physics'.

Erling Mebus Jensen was another teacher who caught Peter's interest because he was both mathematics and metal teacher. In Peter's eyes, the combination was perfect for rocket construction. Mebus really knew Peter's dream of rockets, but made it clear from the outset that Peter would never build rockets in metal slings. Mebus promised to teach Peter the basic things if he ever had to build his rocket.

"I was sitting in school every day and looking forward to the very special hour. It was the highlight of the week, "says Peter, recalling that the adults were always divided between helping and protecting:

"The teachers did everything they could to prevent an accident, but at the same time they were also very curious."

    Liftoff from Cape Cosmos
But Peter lacks knowledge, and with one of his few comrades from the parallel class he makes mistakes.

"We thought you could make liquid hydrogen by compressing it. If possible, we had a hydrogen society today. We also tried to tin the aluminum pipe together for our first rocket, and did not understand why it would not stick. We had all sorts of problems, all about being aware that we knew too little. Against this, you can give up or seek knowledge. "

Peter chooses to seek knowledge, and when Peter and the father move again - this time to Høng - Peter takes a new workshop of four times four meters, which his father built for him. On the father's old planetary bench, Peter begins the rocket building.

Head of Missing Swedish Journalist Found in Waters Near Copenhagen

Danish police say they have found the head and legs of Swedish journalist Kim Wall, who went missing in August after boarding a homemade submarine with Danish inventor Peter Madsen.

Copenhagen police inspector Jens Moller Jensen told reporters Saturday that divers off the Danish coast had found bags containing Wall's head, legs, clothing, and heavy objects that could have been used to weigh the bags down in the water.

Jensen said a forensic dentist confirmed on Friday that the head belonged to Wall. Her torso was found in waters near Copenhagen on August 21, 11 days after she went missing.

Madsen, 46, the inventor, has been in police custody since August 11. He claims Wall died on board the craft when she was hit in the head by a heavy metal hatch door. He said he panicked and threw her body overboard.

But police said Saturday that examination of Wall's head confirms that she had no blunt trauma to the head. However, the torso was found to have multiple stab wounds, including mutilation wounds to the victim's sexual organs.

Earlier this week, investigators said they found computer files in Madsen's workshop containing fetish films in which women were tortured. Madsen said the films were not his. He said multiple people have access to his workshop.

Wall, 30, worked as a freelance journalist based in New York and China.

I heard on the BBC a day ago that they found her severd head that he claimed she "bumped" on a hatch. Autopsy revealed no bumps to match his story. They also said they found a bag of her cloths and a knife believed to have been used in the dismemberment.

They say his story has so many holes in it that it couldn't possibly hold water. Looks as though his ship is sunk.

A real rocket scientist this madd Dutchman.

Danish submarine owner admits dismembering body of Swedish journalist: police

    Julie Astrid Thomsen, Stine Jacobsen
COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Danish inventor Peter Madsen has admitted to dismembering Swedish journalist Kim Wall on board his submarine in August and dumping her body parts in the sea, but he still denies killing her, police said on Monday.

The police said in a statement Madsen had told them in an Oct. 14 interrogation that Wall, 30, had died from carbon monoxide poisoning inside the submarine, while he was on the deck of the vessel.

In past court hearings, Madsen said that Wall had died accidentally after being hit by a heavy hatch cover on his UC3 Nautilus submarine.

The police also said on Monday they would now extend the charges against Madsen - which already include murder and mutilating Wall’s body - to include sexual assault without intercourse, based on 14 interior and exterior stab wounds to the journalist’s genitals.

Madsen denies the murder and sexual assault charges.

Wall, a freelance journalist who was researching a story on Madsen, went missing after he took her out to sea in the 17-metre (56-foot) submarine in August.

On Aug. 23, police identified a headless female torso that washed ashore in Copenhagen as Wall‘s.

Earlier this month police said they had also recovered Wall’s head and legs. They said they found no skull fracture, despite Madsen’s earlier account that she had been hit in the head by the hatch cover.

The submarine is one of three that Madsen built, and one of the largest privately built ones in the world. It could carry eight people and weighed 40 tonnes fully equipped.

Madsen has voluntarily accepted the prosecutor’s request to extend his custody until Nov. 15, his lawyer said earlier on Monday, meaning he will not appear in court on Tuesday as initially planned.

    Who is Kim Wall?

She is a Swedish freelance journalist who studied in Paris, London and New York and has lived in New York and Beijing.

Ms Wall has been published in the New York Times, South China Morning Post, TIME and the Guardian among others.

She was writing about Mr Madsen and his submarine at the time of her disappearance, according to Swedish and Danish reports.
    What happened on Thursday night?

Ms Wall joined Mr Madsen for a voyage leaving Copenhagen some time on Thursday.
Danish inventor Peter Madsen talks to a police officer.
Photo: When Peter Madsen was rescued, he told police he had dropped Kim Wall in Copenhagen before the Nautilus sank. (Reuters: Spancix Denmark/Bax Lindhardt)

Towards midnight, Mr Madsen was rescued from the sinking Nautilus.

He told Denmark's TV2 there had been "a minor problem with a ballast tank … turned into a major issue". Ballast tanks hold water to increase the mass and therefore density of a submarine to allow it to submerge.

He said it took about 30 seconds for Nautilus to sink and he had not been able to close any hatches.

"I guess that was pretty good because I otherwise still would have been down there," he said.

He told police he had left Ms Wall in Copenhagen at about 22:30 local time.

A few hours later, early on Friday morning, Ms Wall's boyfriend reported her missing.
Here's when he got rescued, hours earlier he had cut up the body of Miss Wall, weighted it down and thrown it in the sea. Does he look kind of edgey in the video? Now you know why. Murdering bastard. Rot in hell !

A Danish prosecutor has called for artist and inventor Peter Madsen to be jailed for life for the "extremely brutal" murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall.

Madsen is suspected of killing Wall by either "cutting of the throat or strangulation". He has also been charged with "dismemberment" and "sexual relations other than intercourse of a particularly dangerous nature".

"This is a very unusual and extremely brutal case which has had tragic consequences for Kim Wall and her relatives," Jakob Buch-Jepsen, the special prosecutor leading the case, said yesterday.

Madsen (47) has admitted to dismembering the body of the 30-year-old journalist after she died on board his home-built submarine on the evening of August 10, 2017 but maintains she died in an accident. Her torso, with its head, arms and legs sawn off, was found at the end of August washed on a beach on Amager, an island in Copenhagen. There were 15 stab wounds to her body.

The eight-day trial will begin on March 8.

Pre-meditated torture using workshop tools prior to execution and dismemberment. This submarine geezer bloke gets stranger with each new article....

Danish inventor Peter Madsen charged with abusing Kim Wall before killing her on submarine

Danish inventor Peter Madsen tied up and abused Swedish journalist Kim Wall with tools before murdering her on board his home-built submarine, according to the indictment published on Tuesday.

Madsen planned the murder by bringing a saw, screwdrivers, strips and pipes, which were used to hit, cut and stab Wall while she was alive, the prosecutors said.

The cause of death is yet to be determined, but the prosecutors said she died by strangulation or having her throat cut.

Wall, a 30-year-old freelance journalist who was researching a story on the entrepreneur and aerospace engineer, went missing after Madsen took her out to sea in his 17-metre submarine in August last year.

Madsen has admitted dismembering Wall on board his submarine and dumping her body parts in the sea, but he denies murdering or sexually assaulting her.

On January 16, Madsen was charged with the murder and dismembering of Wall along with a charge of sexual assault without intercourse of a particularly dangerous nature.

Police said in October investigators had found 14 interior and exterior stab wounds to the journalist's genitals.

A police statement said that, according to the prosecution's indictment, the murder had taken place "with prior planning and preparation".

Prosecutors would ask for a life sentence to be passed on Madsen, which in Denmark is typically about 15 years without parole.

They also called for him to be held in "safe custody", which can imply indefinite imprisonment.

Danish submarine inventor Peter Madsen was found guilty Wednesday of torturing and murdering Swedish reporter Kim Wall during a private submarine trip, and was sentenced to life in prison.

Judge Anette Burkoe at the Copenhagen City Court said she and two jurors unanimously decided Wall's death was a murder, saying Madsen, 47, didn't given "a trustworthy" explanation.

It was a "cynical murder" of a journalist who was performing her duties, the court said in its ruling, which was not broadcast live due to a court order.

In Denmark, life equates to 16 years, which can be extended if necessary.

Throughout the trial that started March 8, Madsen has denied murder, saying 30-year-old Wall died accidentally inside the submarine — though he changed his story about how she had died.

Wall embarked on Madsen's submarine on Aug. 10 to interview the entrepreneur.

He initially denied dismembering her, then confessed that he had done so and said he had thrown her body parts into the Baltic Sea.

He listened quietly as the verdict was read, looking down at the desk in front of him.

Prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen claimed Wall's murder was sexually motivated and premeditated because Madsen brought along tools he normally didn't take when sailing, including a saw and sharpened screwdrivers.

Madsen's defence lawyer, Betina Hald Engmark, had argued for his acquittal on the murder charge, saying he dismembered the body and should only be sentenced to the lesser charge of cutting Wall's body into pieces.

The cause of death has never been established, but the court found that Madsen "cut the body into pieces to hide what had happened."

Madsen plans to appeal, with the court ruling he should stay in jail until his appeal hearing out of fear he could try to influence witnesses.

He is serving a life sentence for the murder of Swedish journalist Kim Wall
He lured Ms Wall aboard his homemade submarine with the promise of an interview

Peter Madsen, who was convicted of killing Swedish journalist Kim Wall in 2017, was caught by Danish authorities just outside the capital a short time after his escape.

Footage released by the Ekstra Bladet tabloid showed a man resembling Peter Madsen sitting up against a fence surrounded by police at a distance.

The newspaper said Madsen had a "belt-like object around his abdomen".

In 2018, Madsen was sentenced in the Copenhagen City Court to life in prison for killing Ms Wall, a 30-year-old reporter from Sweden, who he lured aboard his homemade submarine in 2017 with the promise of an interview.

He dismembered Ms Wall's body and dumped it at sea.

Madsen lost his appeal, shortly after apologising to Ms Wall's family, who were present in the appeals court. The sensational case has gripped Scandinavia.

Madsen has denied murdering Ms Wall. He claims she died accidentally inside the submarine but he has confessed to throwing her body parts into the Baltic Sea.

Life sentences in Denmark usually mean 16 years in prison, but convicts are reassessed to determine whether they would pose a danger to society if released and can be kept longer.

He got 16 years which is not life. So don't call it life.
