Thought they were supposed to offer bounced passengers tickets on other airlines flying at a similar time. Sounds like the doctor has a multi million law suit kicking off.

Oscar Munoz and the flight crew are prolly pesky Mexicans, the fine American people would never do things like this.

    Agreed.

Many Americans I know and myself included do not like United.

Higher prices, bad service, delayed flights for maintenance on a regular basis.

I assume in the US domestic flight market people take what flights are available and it's often for work.

    Shit airline.

Won't argue that...But he made no sense, the poor doctor...If they had killed him like he was "begging" them to do, he still wouldn't have made the hospital in the morning...

They made an off of a voucher (and perhaps other things).

    Still, no one volunteered.

Would have been simpler to send the four United employees on a different flight.

This is probably worse publicity than a plane crashing.

Chicago is a tough town and this is what happens when you give some authority to a few neanderthals. All security personel involved should be placed on administrative leave until they are trained to use proper procedure. They are there to protect, not for dragging customers out of their assigned seats. Poorly played by the United employees.

    Quite.

When security staff are told to remove a passenger are they then able to say 'Y'know what...let's allow him to stay right where he is'?

All too easy to put all the blame on the people at the sharp end, which of course is what the management structure is designed to encourage.

The crew move must have come very late if passengers had already embarked. This should be sorted out at check-in and certainly before boarding. Whatever were the airline thinking?

United used to be a good airline and I flew them all the time. Now I avoid them like the plague. Too many downsizings and cutting routes and perks have put them pretty much at the bottom.

In the article it says that he returned to the plane, so the security took everyone off the plane while they dealt with him, and took him off on a stretcher.

Talk about overkill... another group had already left the plane in disgust so here were extra seats available.

It was an exercise in security flexing its muscles and being unable to back down from a poor decision.

Absolutely awful. The only way to go is to keep offering higher incentives until someone accepts. I free flight. No takers? Two free flights? Not takers? and so on.

But to drag off someone who has paid and been seated at random is disgraceful. I hope he sues the f*ckers for millions.

    Hopefully a record breaking settlement.
