14 year old won right to be frozen after dying.

Teenage girl won right to be frozen after dying from cancer.

The terminally ill schoolgirl had her dying request granted after winning a controversial High Court legal battle.

A terminally ill teenager won a historic legal fight to have her body cryogenically frozen in the hope of being brought back to life.

The 14-year-old girl, described as a "bright, intelligent young person", had her wish granted shortly before she died.

The girl had written: "I have been asked to explain why I want this unusual thing done.

"I am only 14-years-old and I don't want to die but I know I am going to die.

"I think being cryo-preserved gives me a chance to be cured and woken up - even in hundreds of years' time.

"I don't want to be buried underground. I want to live and live longer and I think that in the future they may find a cure for my cancer and wake me up.

"I want to have this chance. This is my wish."

Live in hope, die in hope obviously religion played no part in this decision.

R.I.P may or may not be appropriate here, sleep well for the next few hundred years.

I would rather be dead than be like some people on this forum. Standards must be maintained and culling is necessary.

Wasn't there a story going around that Walt Disney also had this procedure? Probably an urban myth but my dear mother was convinced years ago.

I wonder if I could apply to be lightly sauteed in garlic, chili and coriander?

Just as fucking useful, and far cheaper.

That's correct, it's been around since the sixties, before the Internet it was word of mouth and a lot of people believed that Walt Disney was not dead but frozen, apparently he was so talented they wanted to keep him.
Imagine if he was brought back today, what would he make of today's Disney animation films.
How would he take to the new digital computer generated cartoons, would he miss real artists drawing.

This frozen in time is not new, just a new story of an old theme, anyway they have to perfect it so that it can be used for space travel.

Cryogenically frozen, you have to be immersed in a frozen gas tank.

To be fair, it would be kinda cool to wake up in 300 years time.

Davis and Loy Toy would be nearing the end of their fight for one thing.

No matter how your opinion pans out about science or cryonics, I’m sure the decision of the court & her Mums support, gave that young girl some peace and comfort before her passing.....RIP

    You're confusing frozen with pickled.

In the end, all we have is our beliefs, and the awareness of how they survive the test of infinite time......

So it appears that her wish to be frozen has been granted and she is happy, but it appears that she's going to die anyway but happy that her wish to be frozen was granted.

Do you get to poke him in the eye?

Pretty wild stuff alright. I believe that after you die your hair and fingernails continue to grow. If they freeze his head quickly after death, which I guess they do, if he was thawed out would his hair sprout a bit or has that function been killed, as it were, by the freezing or passing of time.

With news of a full body transplant planned for next year, the concept of attaching a healthy living body to a dead and frozen head, that's thawed out and the brain restarted (or attempted to) using a car battery and pair of leads, could actually become some type of reality in 20 years or so.

She was a Brit, from London. Although the facility is in the US, Michigan to be specific.

The one I visited is in Arizona, that's where Mr. .400's head is at. I think there are a few facilities and Companies doing this though...
