Police say they have identified a semi-naked woman who sparked anger and scorn after she was photographed in a gross act of indecency with one of Exmouth’s dinosaur trail models.

Police have identified a woman photographed simulating a sex act with one of the Exmouth dinosaur models.

The image of a semi-naked woman straddling the model sparked anger across the internet earlier this week, prompting disgust and scorn.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the woman photographed in the gross act of indecency had been identified and would be spoken to by officers.

Police said no one had been charged, but investigations were ongoing.

Sergeant Richard Stonecliffe, from the Exmouth police neighbourhood team, said: “We are still continuing our investigations and we have now identified the woman in the photographs who we will be speaking to.”

The shocking image of a semi-naked woman straddling the baby T-Rex Exmouth Dino Trail model was posted on social media on Tuesday, prompting internet fury after the images were shared.

Police launched an investigation to identify the woman. It also emerged she had been photographed semi-naked in one of the town’s pubs.

The district council sent workmen to deep clean the statue after scores of parents complained.

Organiser of the Exmouth Dino Trail, John Thorogood, said he had been ‘completely disgusted’ by the deliberately posed images, describing it as an ‘all-time low’ for Exmouth.

At the time the images emerged, Sgt Stonecliffe, said: “We have been made aware of two pictures that were posted on social media this week which appear to show a woman exposing herself whilst undertaking a distasteful act in public, and exposing herself in a local public house.

“We recommend that members of the public think very carefully before posting any images on to social media. All sections of society and people of all ages have access to websites and forums. This means images possibly taken in jest and that you would not share in the cold light of day, may go viral and be seen by children, you family, neighbours or colleagues.

“Even if the offending images are quickly removed, they will often have been captured or saved by someone and then they could easily be reposted.

“What may be deemed amusing to one person can be deemed offensive and upsetting to others; this could see you in trouble with the police.”

one can but imagine the banter between the hi viz jacketed council cleaners as they scrubbed, sprayed and steamed off any traces of the odorous rectal smearage or musty vaginal juices that had contaminated the statue much to the disgust of the local populace.
