I thought it was donkeys?
I thought it was donkeys?
The donkey shows are popular in Mexico...
The Spanish affinity for torture, death and torment is really quite awesome - vide works on the Inquisition, Civil War, subjugation of South/Central American colonies, etc. I don't think there has been a society quite like it and it comes as no surprise Mexico has inherited its death culture. England and Britain could be fairly cruel but it was generally for a reason whereas in the dago one feels he loves it for the pain and perhaps the closer connection to his popish God it confers..
heres a recent article from a marbella newsheet about goat throwing.
they probably do donkeys too in other villages.
belligerent people, the spanish, many have the pinched facial reatures of the inbred, and they have the market cornered when it comes to toothless old crones , they knock the palestinian crones for six, and thats no mean feat.
hairy women too, and their food is nothing to write home about either.
Some saints are celebrated nationally in Spain and others are legends and celebrated only in particular villages. In the city of Zamora, Saint Vincent has been honoured with his very own festival and Saint´s Day at which a very peculiar (and controversial) custom kicks off the annual fiesta.
The tiny Spanish village of Manganeses de la Polvorosa holds its annual festival for their towns patron Saint Vincent every June.
The festivity begins with a group of excited young men tossing a live goat off the top of a 50-foot church belfry to the crowd below who catch the flying goat with a canvas sheet.
However, as each year the (not so lucky) chosen goat is hurled from the bell tower into the tarpaulins below, some survive the fall and some do not.
Not much attention is given to the death of this animal, it is set aside and the fiesta begins regardless. If the goat survives it is revered and is paraded through the small village, becoming a local legend for years to come.
It is apparent that how and when this custom began is a mystery.
What is not a mystery is that this custom is not very well perceived of by outsiders, causing much controversy and outrage by animal activists. They consider this inhumane animal treatment and demand the termination of this tradition.
Many organizations have rallied to abolish this annual custom, or at least have it modified. Through the years modifications such as “lowering” the goat safely, launching an inanimate object (instead of a live one) below and in 1992 officials have even gone as far as cancelling this tradition and (unsuccessfully) attempting to fine rebellious participants.
However, townspeople do not take kindly to outsiders and officials meddling with their fiesta, many villagers retaliated by attacking police and inquisitive journalists. To date the people of Manganeses de la Polvorosa show no signs of relenting and giving up this age old tradition.
The Vicente de Martir festival may be controversial, the villagers and outsiders may continue to clash about the future of this tradition, but for now it continues and the villagers celebrate with pride and enthusiasm Saint Vincent’s Day.

it's ok Terry, you are Australian, you are expected to be culture water-proofOriginally Posted by terry57

the reason of the game is to put men and a ferocious animal on the same ground. The bull with his horn, the matafor with his blade.
Look at the position of the body of the matador when he wants to kill, it's the same as the bull. The position of the blade is very important.
It's really a dance, a flamingo dance between nature and men.
If you think sending animals to the slaughter house is not savagery, even though it's not a sport, it's a whole industry. Should we stop it ? of course not.Originally Posted by terry57
What about Japan killing whales and those dolphins ? now that's gratuitous monstruoisity. No dance, no spectacle, just pure mindless slaughter of peaceful animals.
what the fuck is a flamingo dance you silly belgian loon. It's really a dance, a flamingo dance between nature and men.
I remember it being broadcast as a sport on TV in America when I was a kid. Gee, some things really have changed for the better.Originally Posted by Dragonfly

Hey, cut him some slack, Tax. How many whippet fancying, pigeon eating, clog-dancing, cloth capped, ferret fucking, inbred sister twatters from Gormlessdale would know it was a Flamenco?
Although in truth, he probably meant to say it was a ' tarantella ' between man and beast.

Don'y worry, Butters, I've put him right - we Europeans must stick together (no bodily fluids, mind!).

I still don't understand why they have to kill the bulls mother?
Because he killed the matador? So he had a nasty streak in him... I guess it's tradition.
I love Spain, know it well. But have never liked the bull fighting.
But, when done right it is a bit like pink bird dancing!!
That is quite appalling actually... and spiteful towards the bull.
Much like the Brexiteers v the Remainiacs - even with the odds stacked against, it still won, and then it's victory is stolen out of spite.
Disgusting treatment of a provoked animal, and totally against the spirit of Bullfighting actually:
"Sometimes, the life of the bull is spared due to his braveness (indulto); once the animal has been treated, it is returned to live in the dehesa. Such pardons are nevertheless rare. "

Matador Ivan Fandino killed in France bullfight
50 seconds here- don't look like cape trip to me
the bull was just too good for him
A Spanish bullfighter has died after being gored during a festival in southwest France.
Ivan Fandino, 36, caught his feet in his cloak and fell to the floor, where he was gored by the bull.
He suffered a lung injury and died on his way to hospital from a heart attack on Saturday, French media say.
Fandino, who was taking part in the Aire-sur-l'Adour bullfighting festival near Pau, is reportedly the first matador to die in France in a century.
The Basque-born matador had already taken part in a competition earlier in the day before he was injured.
Photographs showed he was conscious, but bleeding heavily, as he was led away from the ring.
Fandino, pictured here in Seville in 2015, had been injured by a bull before
Fandino was thrown in the air by a bull in Pamplona in 2015
Fandino had been injured at least twice in previous events - once in 2015, when thrown into the air by a bull in Pamplona, Spain, but more seriously the year before when he was knocked unconscious in Bayonne, France.

If you look at the advertisement poster hanging up with Saint Server on it and a cross. It has the date 20 November 2017. This proves that this is the actual video of tragic bull fighter and not a previous video of one of his close calls with bulls.
What happened to the blokey who got a horn up the jacksie last month?
Did he get a jacksie transplant?
Hope it was in good condition and not high mileage!
Should have fitted a drawstring so he can leave it undone when he is risking his next pounding in the (bull)ring!Originally Posted by blue
