^ Strangely enough I had the exact opposite happen to me a little while ago.
The wife was out late and was going to sleep in the spare room, so I sneaked Dan into the bedroom for the night. She loves to sleep on the bed and have a cuddle.
Trouble is, Dan is incontinent these days and wet herself all over the bed in the night. It went everywhere.
I sneaked Dan out in the morning and had to say it was me who'd wet the bed to save the wife going into one about me letting the dogs in again.
And I'm glad things have worked out for Johnny Depp, I think he's a great actor.
I don't understand how they awarded her 2 miilion dollars. Her case against Depp was that his lawyer defamed her by making statements to the effect that her allegations of assault by JD were false and that she was making it all up.
In the end that was decided by the jury to be exactly the case so it would seem to me that she wouldn't have a case. Although I think it was his accusation that she and her friends colluded to rough up the appartment after the police, having found nothing, left, then calling them again that the jury awarded against as he couldn't actually prove that.
In the end she had absolutely NO evidence that Depp had assaulted her so I think an appeal will be difficult.
“If we stop testing right now we’d have very few cases, if any.” Donald J Trump.
^ Heard won on the hoax statement. I think there was evidence that other people called the police twice, no heard and friends.
Amber Heard has said she will appeal against the verdict in the multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit brought in the US by her ex-husband Johnny Depp.
Heard, 36, said she was "heartbroken" and felt "disappointment beyond words" after Depp was awarded $15m (£11.9m) by a court in Virginia on Wednesday.
Sources close to the actress, who won $2m (£1.6m) in her countersuit against Depp, 58, have told NBC News that she will appeal against the verdict. No additional details were provided.

Insurance Company Sues Amber Heard to Keep from Paying for Johnny Depp Judgment and Legal Fees
An insurance company is suing actress Amber Heard on a three-pronged request: (1) that it be absolved of any duty to pay for her defense in a recent defamation case by her ex-husband Johnny Depp, (2) that it not be required to pay the multi-million dollar judgment Depp won against her, and (3) that it not have to pay any costs of ongoing litigation associated with an appeal.
The New York Marine and General Insurance Company filed the suit against Heard on Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. New York Marine insured Heard from July 18, 2018 through July 18, 2019 — a crucial time period for the defamation case. That time frame includes the date Heard wrote and retweeted a now-infamous Washington Post op-ed — a piece in which she claimed she was “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” The headline discussed Heard “speaking up against sexual violence” and “facing our culture’s wrath.”
The period of time New York Marine insured Heard also includes the March 1, 2019 filing date of Depp’s defamation lawsuit. The suit was filed in Fairfax County, Virginia, because computer servers for The Washington Post are located there and because the paper’s printing plant is located Springfield, Virginia.
The insurance company’s suit claims Heard was covered by a $1 million insurance policy from July 2018 through July 2019.
In the complaint, New York Marine notes that California insurance law provides that although an insurance company may be liable for an insured party’s negligence, “an insurer is not liable for a loss caused by the willful act of the insured[.]” New York Marine argues that since Heard was found by a Virginia jury to have acted with actual malice — in other words, willfully — when defaming Depp, the company should not have to indemnify Heard.
The suit also claims New York Marine accepted Heard’s defense on October 1, 2019 through the law firm Cameron McEvoy and had agreed to continue its coverage through that firm. However, New York Marine claims Cameron McEvoy withdrew from the case on November 2, 2020 at the advice of Heard or attorneys representing her. It suggests New York Marine did not approve of a concomitant change in counsel and therefore shouldn’t have to pay for Heard’s legal fees.

One interesting point might be that heards lawyer could be in deep shit. In her closing she said heard had spent 6 million in lawyer fees. She KNEW that was not true. While a witness can maybe shade the truth, a lawyer cannot.

Johnny Depp Appeals $2 Million Defamation Verdict Amber Heard Won in Trial
JOHNNY DEPP - I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY AMBER $2 MIL
Johnny Depp wants total victory over Amber Heard, and he's just filed an appeal trying to get it ... claiming the jury got it wrong when it ruled in favor of his ex-wife on a single count of defamation.
You'll recall, Johnny was the big winner, by far, when the jury came back in their landmark trial, saying Amber had defamed him and had to cough up $10.35 million dollars -- but it also ruled Amber was defamed, and awarded her $2 mil.
In docs filed Wednesday in the Virginia Court of Appeals, Johnny says the jury had erroneously ruled in favor of Amber ... when it said one of Johnny's attorneys, Adam Waldman, defamed Amber by telling a media outlet she had lied while describing a blowout fight that ended their marriage.
Waldman said, "So Amber and her friends spilled a little wine and roughed the place up, got their stories straight under the direction of a lawyer and publicist, and then placed a second call to 911."
In the appeal, Johnny makes the point that his lawyer said that, not him, and he shouldn't be held responsible for Waldman's remarks. He also says Amber's team failed to prove Waldman made those comments with malice ... a requirement to win a defamation claim.
Johnny wants the court to overturn the jury on that single count. Remember, Amber has also filed an appeal of the counts she lost.
So, scoreboard review: Amber's $10.35 mil check to Johnny is on hold and, likewise, his $2 mil check to her is on hold.
Amber Heard Files New Counterclaim in Johnny Depp Dispute
Amber Heard Has Filed Another Counterclaim in Her Legal Saga with Johnny Depp, and It’s Against an Insurance Company
Amber Heard is accusing one of her insurance companies of unlawfully abandoning her as she appeals an order that she pay Johnny Depp $10 million for defaming him.
A two-count counterclaim seeking punitive damages, filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, accuses New York Marine and General Insurance Co.’s of breaching its contract with Heard by “refusing to fully and properly defend Ms. Heard in the Depp lawsuit,” including by suggesting it could deny her coverage because she intentionally defamed Depp. It also says the company shirked its responsibility to Heard by currently refusing to agree to cover any money Heard “may be legally obligated to pay in judgment in, or settlement of, the Depp lawsuit.”
“New York Marine sold Ms. Heard an insurance policy in which it promised to defend and indemnify Ms. Heard against, among other things, lawsuits alleging that she defamed others. When Ms. Heard was sued by Johnny Depp for defamation, she timely notified New York Marine and asked New York Marine to defend her,” the 13-page counterclaim reads. “While New York Marine promised to do so, it did not provide the full and capable defense to which Ms. Heard was entitled, it failed to pay the attorneys’ fees and costs that it was obligated to pay for Ms. Heard’s defense, and it acted in other ways that prejudiced Ms. Heard and her defense.”
It says the company has left Heard “to incur hundreds of thousands of dollars in defense costs not paid by any insurer.” It also offers a provocative allegation, suggesting that New York Marine may have been out to sabotage Heard’s defense after it in October 2019 reserved its right to deny her coverage because she “behaved intentionally.” Her current attorneys say that created “a conflict of interest with Ms. Heard” and entitled her to new counsel at New York Marine’s expense, but the company refused to comply and instead stuck with Cameron/McEvoy PLLC, based in Fairfax, Virginia, before it withdrew in November 2020.
“New York Marine’s conduct is despicable and has been done with a conscious disregard of Ms. Heard’s rights, constituting oppression, fraud, and/or malice,” according to the counterclaim.
New York Marine’s attorneys at McCormick, Barstow, Sheppard, Wayte & Carruth LLP in Fresno, California, could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.
The counterclaim was filed in a 28-page document with Heard’s answer to New York Marine’s lawsuit against her. That lawsuit seeks a court order that the company is not obligated to pay for Heard’s defense because she did not go to trial with the law firm selected by the company. Both filings reiterate her lawyers’ argument that the litigation is prejudicial to her ongoing appeal of a $10.35 million judgment in Depp’s lawsuit over a December 2018 op-ed Heard wrote for the Washington Post. The op-ed did not specifically name Depp but described abuse a Virginia jury eventually determined was meant to be attributed to Depp.
Heard filed a counterclaim in that case, too, accusing Depp and his lawyers of defamation. Jurors awarded $2 million for defamation by one of Depp’s lawyers, Adam Waldman, over a claim that Heard had lied when describing a fight that ended her marriage with Depp. But the overall June 1 verdict was hailed as a substantial and decisive victory for Depp, as jurors awarded him $10 million in compensatory damage and $5 million in punitive damages. Judge Penney Azcarate of Virginia’s 19th Judicial Circuit reduced Depp’s total to about $10.35 million in accordance with Virginia state law.
Heard is seeking damages “in an amount to be proven at trial” while saying New York Marine’s actions “are inconsistent with the reasonable expectations of Ms. Heard, are contrary to established insurance industry custom and practice, are contrary to legal requirements, are contrary to the express terms of the Policy, and constitute bad faith.” She’s also seeking punitive damages “in an amount sufficient to punish and to make an example of New York Marine and to deter similar conduct in the future.”
A status conference in the case is scheduled Dec. 1 via telephone before Judge Wu in Los Angeles. A joint status report is due Nov. 29.

Amber Heard settles defamation case against Johnny Depp
Actress Amber Heard said she has settled the defamation case brought by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp.
Heard made the announcement in an Instagram post on Monday, which comes about six months after a Virginia jury found that she acted with actual malice in issuing false statements about Depp abusing her during their relationship.
Heard was ordered to pay Depp $10.35 million in damages, and Depp was also ordered to pay Heard $2 million for a false statement by Depp’s lawyer claiming Heard roughed up the couple’s apartment to look worse for police.
“It’s important for me to say that I never chose this,” Heard said on Monday. “I defended my truth and in doing so my life as I knew it was destroyed. The vilification I have faced on social media is an amplified version of the ways in which women are re-victimised when they come forward.”
Following the ruling, Heard’s then-attorney said on NBC’s “Today” that the actress could “absolutely not” afford to pay the judgment.
Both Heard and Depp had appealed the judgments against them.
Heard’s statement did not disclose the amount of the settlement.
“Now I finally have an opportunity to emancipate myself from something I attempted to leave over six years ago and on terms I can agree to,” Heard said in her statement. “I have made no admission. This is not an act of concession. There are no restrictions or gags with respect to my voice moving forward.”
Yup, now it's the court system and society's misogyny, not the fact that she crapped on the bed and had incriminating video/audio of her being the instigant
this news is about a week old. had it, just didn't post it until today.
Johnny Depp is pledging to donate $1 million to charities on the heels of ex-wife Amber Heard announcing she’d settle their defamation case.
The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star, 59, announced the move Monday in a statement his legal team made to E! News.
“We are pleased to formally close the door on this painful chapter for Mr. Depp, who made clear throughout this process that his priority was about bringing the truth to light,” said Benjamin Chew and Camille Vasquez — who themselves became topics of internet discourse amid the six-week trial.
“The jury’s unanimous decision and the resulting judgement in Mr. Depp’s favor against Ms. Heard remain fully in place.”
Chew and Vasquez made a point of saying Depp “will actually donate” the money he’s pledging. The remark seems to be a pointed nod to a pledge made by Heard, 36, to the American Civil Liberties Union. Information that the “Aquaman” star had donated less than half of the $3.5 million she pledged came to light early in the trial.
Depp sued Heard for $50 million regarding a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, in which she labeled herself “a public figure representing domestic abuse.” Heard countersued for $100 million after a Depp lawyer slammed her allegations as a hoax.
The jury awarded $10 million in Depp’s suit and $2 million in Heard’s countersuit.
Heard took to Instagram Monday to say she would settle the case, but still maintained she “never chose this” and was “defending my truth.”
“I have made no admission. This is not an act of concession,” she continued.
Depp’s lawyers did not immediately respond to the Daily News’ request for comment.
Rather than clog the courts and enrich the ambulance chasing lawyers both losers should be made to rough it doing community service,
I'm sure there's plenty of cleaning, social, forestry, environmental tasks. in fact let a local homeless shelter bend them to whatever needed and they are required to sleep there in their squalor until a judge sees fit.
Wouldn't take many reports for these parasitic jokers to settle their needy quarrels in private.
Of course the lawyers , media hounds and paparazzi big up it up as it fills their pockets too
