Certainly not the way she alleges. Though, it appears they had a rather rough and tumble type of relationship.

Looking at some of the trial footage. The difference in professionalism between Depps team and experts and Heards is staggering. Depps expert psychiatrist just demolished the testomony of Heards "expert" .

Not to mention the quality of witnesses.
This Heards psychiatrist guy who passed an opinion on Depp without ever having met or talked to him.

It's an interesting trial

It is like watching an episode of "Cops", and following it with an episode of "Keystone kops". Simply different worlds.

Aptly demonstrating that the law is on the side of those who spend the most money.

I think (at least in this case) it is a bit more nuanced than that. For a start Heard is not paying her own legal costs. God knows how it works out, but her costs are borne by her house insurance company (!!??). So it is not straight up a question of money.

I think more to the point that when you have out and out fabricated your story, you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get someone who is prepared to sell their reputation for cash. One of the psychiatrists on the stand for Heard flat out broke ethical guidelines.

I just find it beyond reasonable there is no clear evidence of assault - no clear photo, no doctors report, no independent corroboration by anyone of any injury to her whatsoever. But there is a fair amount of evidence of Depp getting hurt by her on multiple occasions.

I believe it is closing arguments later today. Will be worth a watch (although long as both sides get two hours).

Very good point, I was not necessarily suggesting that was the only factor but neither did I make it 100% clear that if you hire a shyster lawyer expect a shyster argument/defence. And no amount of money in the world will get a good lawyer to act badly.

Oh, poor lawyers.

While the jury found Depp should receive $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, the judge said state law caps punitive damages at $350,000, meaning Depp's award would total $10.35 million.
