In defence of the bravery and fortitude of short-arsed magicians everywhere I would like to point out that Paul Daniels did in fact cut off his own index finger and part of his ring finger using a circular saw in 2012 at the age of 74.

It was an accident and he drove by himself to the hospital with his finger on the passenger seat and it was reattached.

Also despite being a bug-eyed rug-sporting short-arse with a squeaky northern voice he managed to have sex with over 300 women during his lifetime according to his autobiography so it wasn't all disappearing handkerchiefs and card tricks.

The brummie hero in Pragmatic's link could also make things disappear as a kid, the thievin' little bastard
