Jeez. Probably the most influential and talented of musicians, performing artist, and downright brilliant rock / pop stars of the last 45 years.
Still vital, and producing great music up 'til last year. RIP David Bowie. *sob*

Saddening not only for the loss, but for the fact that it kind of marks the end of an era for such huge talents. Are there any artists from the last 20 years that could be held in such high esteem... sure there's talent but not in the same league.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Watching that appearance on "Top Of The Pops" way back then changed a lot of people's lives. And music forever.
