A man has been decapitated after an attacker brandishing an Islamist flag raided a French factory in Grenoble, according to reports.
There are also reports of a loud explosion at the factory and several other victims.
Sources said at least one arrest had been made, though there are also reports of two attackers, both carrying Islamist flags.

Other sources said that two men rammed the factory in a car before entering and setting off several small explosive devices.
A decapitated body was found nearby the factory, another source said.
The attack came nearly six months after the Islamist attacks in and around Paris that killed 17 people in January.
Those attacks started with a shooting at satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said he would go "immediately" to the scene, his office said.

What's with the obsession with removing peoples' heads, anyway ?

I guess it's the most terrifying and horrifying thing that most people could think of happening to themselves.

I mean, getting shot dead is bad enough, but being deprived of one's head is a bit off-putting, isn't it ? I wonder if it's because we all wonder if we will remain conscious for a few seconds after that ??

Whatever the reason, I hereby propose the starting of a movement to kidnap known terrorists (from police custody if necessary) and chop off their gonads.......or whatever similar act Muslim terrorists would consider to be extremely horrifying. Plain old death does not seem to be working as a deterrent.

Perhaps chopping off their nuts, then an injection of pig's blood ??

This would be a great deterrent : terrorizing the terrorists ! ........Poetic justice at it's best.

According to French news agency AFP, Arabic writing was scrawled on the victim's head.
A man has been beheaded and at least one other person injured in a suspected Islamist attack on a gas factory near the French city of Lyon.
There were several small explosions, possibly caused by gas canisters, at the Air Products factory in Saint-Quentin-Fallavier, sources said.
A man has been arrested by anti-terror police, officials say.
Reports suggest two attackers drove into the factory carrying a flag with Arabic writing on it.
French President Francois Hollande will leave the EU summit in Brussels this afternoon and return to France. He is expected to give a news conference before travelling.
Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve is said to be on his way to the scene.
The attack occurred around 10:00 local time (08:00 GMT), according to local media.

Crazy ! But I wonder if, even though the perpetrators may be Muslim, they may have been goaded into it by agents provaceteurs ??

He was on a terrorist watch until 2008 then was no longer of any interest.
France has 4 million Muslims and keeping track is a monumental task.
He held down a job at the same factory and is said to have known the guy decapitated.
