Why do I find it hard to accept ? Because you might say that I have had a fair bit to do with the justice system.

The problem is that you were expressing yourself in a way that strongly suggested that the justice system were giving judgement IN ORDER to give victims and their families revenge and retribution.....that it was a major factor in prosecution and sentencing. Whereas it is supposed to be completely impartial. If people want to wallow in delight at revenge, so be it. THat's their choice....but it's incidental.

In yesterday's (Saturday's) Weekend Australian, in The Inquirer section, the headline and full 1st page was all about how President Joke Dodo is actually a weak guy trying to look strong, and how 3 different people in top positions advised him to tone it down a bit and perhaps be lenient. But he didn't because he's a wanker trying to look tough.
