The outrage bus left a while ago.... however there is a mitigating excuse for these druggies. Given the pitiful standards of literacy, spelling and grammar displayed by so many Oztrailereen folk it is quite possible that they were unable to read the great big fuckoff signs in the airports which informed them as to what would happen if they were caught with drugs!
The greatest tragedy of the whole thing is that the death penalty actually has great potential if it were reserved for and applied to criminals who truly deserve it. Smuggling drugs just isn't morally offensive enough to warrant the disproportionate response so then it gives the death penalty a bad name.
Not a humorous thread but this did bring a smile to my face.Quote:

China has the right idea, live on television.
Actually they should have been pumped full of the stuff for 6 months and then locked in a cell without it so they could go through the withdrawal process, with it live on webcam for others thinking of getting involved in it.
That has something to do with the fact that not everybody is an Australian.
....and what about the 'flippa' who is most likely innocent, or are you going to tell us you would shoot your kids for getting their 9X tables wrong?Quote:
Its been all about the two Australians and the Flippa.
Do try to see the bigger picture......

The death penalty should be reserved for kunts who debase human morality directly with their own hands like that fucker in Chiang Mai with the broken bottle in the bargirls ass or people who take life violently, brazenly and without regret in public massacres like Anders Breivik.
Looper most of these Traffickers are in the pyramid scheme, and pay for there involvement,so they do inflict the misery.
I never used to be pro capital punishment but moving that way more by the day.
For me, providing drug users with drugs at their request does not come close in moral crime terms to the worst cases of violent crime against the individual such as torture, murder and rape.
Of course drug smuggling is bad but if we are to ever drum up actual support for returning the death penalty we would be best to focus public opinion on the crimes that are most morally repugnant.

That is what it is. Does the drug smuggler wish to make people suffer? No he wishes to make some coin. People freely want to buy his drugs and he sells them. Not the most directly brazen moral crime I would say.Quote:

I agree with Looper. Get the ones that deserve it, rather than making a point with the middle men.
But, on the other hand. Perhaps their executions may stop the next lot of "I am invincible" silly little 20 year olds trying to make a fast buck. Those two were in their early twenties when they were caught.
I do feel for their families.
And why did he get married the day before?
Drugs don't cause misery at all, it's only when they are denied do they cause problems and in that respect governments should do much more to provide them at economic prices, and more widely. Decriminalisation is the only sensible course and in time would see an end to the quite dangerous proliferation of chemical legal highs. Heroin, cocaine and cannabis are all derived from natural occurring products and as long as everything is kept nice and organic then even " green " folk should be happy.
Killing someone simply because they breached daft drug laws is not only silly, it is pointless and quite mean. But then one doesn't expect much more from these little wogs.
