Jeremy Clarkson, Top Gear host, suspended by BBC

Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended by the BBC "following a fracas" with a producer.

The corporation said the presenter had been suspended "pending an investigation".

"No one else has been suspended. Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday," it said.

"The BBC will be making no further comment at this time."

    He Mocks them .
Brilliant show, one of the few shows you can enjoy with your young Son.

Clarkson, is it Time for the 'Top Gear' Frontman to Enter the Pits?

By Gizmodo UK on 10 Mar 2015 at 6:15PM

Hear that? That's the sound of a £100K sportscar slowing to a halt and shedding a single, petrol-y tear. The BBC has just announced that "divisive" Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has been suspended pending an investigation after a "fracas" with a producer.

It's an arguably long-necessary move that's bound to irk petrolheads and please anti-Clarkson campaigners in equal measure – although it's good to know that if accidental casual racism doesn't see you reprimanded in the office, good old-fashioned "falling out with the people you work with" will.

While we can't comment on Clarkson's latest indiscretion (the details of this latest incident are not yet clear), historically he's walked the bit-of-a-dick tightrope perilously. Racial slurs, casual sexism, millions and millions of people all over the world lapping up whatever car he puts through the ringer that week – all in a day's work.

So is it time for the BBC to put a clamp on Liability Clarkson? Or is it all, to borrow a phrase, just political correctness gone mad? Top Gear with Clarkson at the helm, after all, is one of the BBC's most lucrative international money spinners, which is no doubt why it's taken so long for them to actually put him on the naughty step.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

Really don't see why that show is popular.
I have never found any of the “ha ha look what just happened hilariously and unplanned” parts remotely funny.
Same thing every week, just boring really and Clarkson is a nobhead

Spot on Kev , childish humour churned out for the masses on the sink estates to keep em happy paying the licence fee .

I remember watching Top Gear with my Dad and enjoying every moment of an , what was then an informative program , I believe headed by Raymond Baxter ?

Funnily enough the cars in those days didn't smoke the tyres every time you let the clutch out or went round a corner .

I remember seeing that prick Clarkson one day banging on about how this Lada would only do 92mph flat out !

Well you dipshit , the national speed limit happens to be 70mph ,, whats your problem ?
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

The loony left wing politically correct biased Bolshevik Broadcasting Corporation epitomises much that is wrong with the UK today, yes they'd have love to have gotten rid of Clarkson years ago but the champagne socialists that run the place didn't due to the amount of money he brings in to the evil corporation every year. They need Clarkson more than he needs them so personally I hope they do sack him as it will lead to a massive loss of revenue for them.

When the founding talent starts cashing in their chips, it normally means the whole concept is getting a bit old. Expect to see ramped up Top Gear merchandising soon (T shirts etc), and the inevitable 'best of' Top Gear episoides. Actually I wouldn't mind seeing a few 'worst of' Top Gear re-runs, but I haven't actually watched the show for quite a while.

Loved the one where they took a Toyota HiLux, and gave it a hard time- then dropped it from a crane, left it in the sea overnight, then torched it. Less thn five minutes work, and it was running again.

Perhaps rating are quite stable - consider Top Gear is broadcast in every English-speaking country in the world and remain popular.

I guessing that the fracus was over creative differences.

    Racial slurs, casual sexism
Most children know that cartoons are not real. Laugh or not what they (Top Gear) do is comedy. Cars long ago became cookie cutter versions of each other, you can't get a metaphorical cigarette paper between say Toyota and Honda. Boring as faaak. I'm talking about the cars that people actually buy not the ones they all talk about buying. Sure they get you down to Tesco or impress your neighbours for three weeks or get you laid, but then? In the west one feels like a criminal the moment one gets in a car. All the fun has gone.

So any Racial slurs, casual sexism should be taken as comedy not as personal political statements. For Christ's sake what has the world come to? No laughs. It's the 21st century, let's get our sense of humour in line. Soon the world will be German/Swedish with no laughs at all. Agreed Top Gear humour is Anglo-centric so maybe not everyone (Americans) get it. Does that matter. If one wants to know what the 0-60 times etc are one can always watch MotorTrend TV. All that bar room statistical stuff is irrelevant anyway today on modern roads.

Clarkson will be more famous now than he ever was and Top Gear if it continues will be a watered down version and not even worth watching. It is the interaction between the three that makes it funny.

I hope it is simply a ripple thrown up by a few stones.

    Footnote:
Clarkson is in favour of personal freedom and against government regulation, stating that government should "build park benches and that is it. They should leave us alone."[
    Americans should love him?

Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
