3 British Teen Girls Feared Headed to Syria to Join Islamic State

Police in Britain appealed Friday for information that might help them find three teenage schoolgirls who were believed to be traveling to Syria to join Islamic State militants.

Scotland Yard said the three girls flew from London to Istanbul, Turkey, this week without telling their families.

All three girls, aged 15 to 16, attend the same school in east London, Bethnal Green Academy. Police said they thought the girls were following the example of another teenage girl from their school who left for Syria in December.

Police said they were working with Turkish authorities to try to find the girls and bring them home.

Two of the girls were identified as Shamima Begun and Kadiza Sultana. The third girl was not being named at the request of her family.

Richard Walton, head of London's police counterterrorism command, said the force was concerned that there could be a growing trend of girls showing an interest in joining the Islamic State militant group.

Silly, silly little girls. Have they not even thought that the best fate waiting for them there is being used as prostitutes for the "troops"?

Idiots, Western countries should send all these idiots that want to join a terrorist group on a free 1 way trip to whatever 3rd world shithole they want. Less home bred idiots to worry about.

Just watching it on the BBC news, all hushed tones, very sympathetic and worried about the girls they are, no calling them terrorists or asking the massive family that they had on show what the girls had said about Islamic state etc .

Imagine if the KKK had started hanging blacks in Mississippi and 3 racist blond girls had gone off to join the Klan. I wonder if the liberals at the bbc would would have acted the same way.

These poor poor girls...British too....not fukin towel heads.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. The BBC is becoming intolerable, which is a shame, being advertless. going to shaft them for next years license fee and get chav like when they visit

I say advertless but their self promotions are puke provoking

UK in 'ever-losing battle' over online radicalisation, says Lady Warsi

Former government minister says it is becoming increasingly apparent that people are being radicalised in their bedrooms rather than in places of worship

“Much resource has gone into making sure websites are taken down, but we are fighting an ever-losing battle with extremist groups. One of the things that [Islamic State] has been incredibly successful at has been using the internet and social networking spaces for their own propaganda.”

Police are urgently trying to trace Shamima Begum, 15, Kadiza Sultana, 16, and Amira Abase, 15, after they flew to Istanbul from Gatwick airport on Tuesday. It is believed they have fled to Syria to join Islamic State.

Reports have emerged that at least one of the girls had been in contact with Aqsa Mahmood, who left her Glasgow home in November 2013 after becoming radicalised.

The justice minister, Simon Hughes, said he hoped the three missing schoolgirls were receiving the messages encouraging them to come home.

The Liberal Democrat added: “The security services already had the woman who apparently might be involved on their radar so we don’t need more powers. She was known to the authorities.”

Hughes said it was always important to ensure a counter-argument against Islamic State was being made in schools and also to show children “that’s not where excitement and success should lie” and that opportunities exist in the UK.

The 15 year old girl, Shamina, apparently travelled using her sister's passport. Presumably the sister is older than Shamina.

Spot on. Must be tough growing up in a secular society where everyone is having fun except yourself. As for future prospects in the UK , an arranged marriage with someone you've never met until he is shagging you on the wedding night. No , I understand why this is happening but the fact is these kind of misfits could become a serious threat if allowed to return. Sadly , they have made their beds and should now have to sleep in them ........ But never again in England.

Not exactly a two week holiday in Benidorm is it?

15, 16 years old. How the hell can they have been so stupid. have they never read the newspapers, seen the news about how those people treat young, innocent girls like them?

I'd take the shagging on the arranged wedding night with one husband than the gang rape that is probably awaiting them as soon as they land in the land of their dreams.

Looking on the positive side, it shows the girls are confident, have good planning skills, can keep things confidential and can keep a straight face when lying. Perhaps their future lies as lawyers or politicians rather than as an advanced guard of the 72 virgins for IS martyrs.

Syria girls: Trio have crossed into Syria, Met Police say

Three missing teenagers believed to be heading to join Islamic State militants are thought to have crossed into Syria, UK police say.

The London schoolgirls were smuggled into Syria from Turkey four or five days ago, the BBC understands.

Sources said the girls had entered Syria near the Kilis border crossing.

Bethnal Green Academy pupils Shamima Begum and Amira Abase, both 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16, travelled to Istanbul on 17 February.

They flew from Gatwick to Turkey after telling their parents they were going out for the day.

The Metropolitan Police said it "now had reason to believe that they are no longer in Turkey and have crossed into Syria".

"Officers continue to work closely with the Turkish authorities on this investigation," the force said in a statement.

It comes after the girls' families made a number of emotional appeals for them to return.

    Yep.

One of the three schoolgirls believed to be heading to Syria to join Islamic State militants flew to Turkey on her older sister's passport, it has been confirmed.

Shamima Begum, 15, used the passport of her 17-year-old sister Aklima to leave the UK on Tuesday.

Whatever happened to make them decide this was the thing to do?...Can you imagine your child leaving home suddenly like this?...

"Friday morning at 9:00 o'clock she is far away"...

Father snores as his wife gets into her dressing gown
Picks up the letter that's lying there
Standing alone at the top of the stairs
She breaks down and cries to her husband
    Daddy, our baby's gone
Why would she treat us so thoughtlessly?
How could she do this to me?

Yes, but not as awful as the British people feel at having the whole of the East of London taken over by immigrant scum in a 20 year tsunami.

Sad it was used this way, but amusing that for all the high tech detection and surveillance stuff governments invent, a trick this simple still works.

So if you're banned from travelling for any reason, you simply ask a sibling to use their passport, and for the sibling they could never prove complicity.
