Sad to see someone who does not know their own countrys history. Do some serious reading Necro and maybe it will help you understand things better

A startled 12 year old might need a bit more than "hands up" before the realization of his predicament would sink in. Something more like "hands up or you'll be shot" would probably be clearer, but the officer may not have had time to determine he was dealing with a twelve year old given the apparent rapid progression of the incident. So, being able to issue that kind of command may be questionable or not reasonable to expect as the officer could have been shot himself very quickly.

Not taking sides here, just wondering how the verbal aspect of those couple of seconds might have gone. It will be interesting to hear the officer's take on what verbal instructions were given.

Another aspect that has me wondering is the proximity of the police car to the scene. I'm wondering why the officer who was driving came to a halt leaving only a few feet between his partner's door and the boy. I think they had some idea based on the call that the person of interest may have been carrying a weapon and that close proximity seems to have played a big part in the incident.

Perhaps some of our members with law enforcement experience can give their take on these apsects.

Just watched the vid... even with the time lapse I can't see how the cops would have said much, I guess they have to try and cover their arse by claiming to say they followed some kind of procedure. You can see in the vid the kid pulling at his waistband as they pull up though. Dumb kid, maybe life in Cleveland was so depressing he preferred death by cop.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

I've said it before, but to repeat, A JOB I WOULD NEVER ACCEPT.

I saw the video of the cop in the Ferguson shooting. One thing that struck me was the cop saying as he got out of his cruiser to chase the guy, he was thinking, "What can I legally do here?" Fuck that. Every time a cop is put in a possible shooting scenario - and I don't specifically mean either of these - his first thought is not am I going to get shot?, but, am I on firm legal ground? That sucks.

I'd call that a bad shoot, from the known facts, you don't drive up to a guy/kid with a gun, keep your distance.
No public around, contain and await guys with long arms [rifles], if the kid had a real gun, he could have emptied a clip into the police car.
Personal safety is number one, you don't risk your life unless you have a good reason.
Cops were just too cock sure of themselves, or poorly trained.

Yep. That's our Jim. The unarmed prison screw who never fired a shot at anything but paper, but is an expert in "center mass shooting" "adrenaline dumps" and all the other cool shit he reads in his shack in the festering ass of Issan where he tries to eke out an existence from a few rubber trees. Thanks for sharing, Jim. See that you were hacking into my LinkedIn account again today. I've never had a poster so scummy as to stalk me through other fora in five years on TD. You're a real prince, you fucking ignorant scum.

Did James really try and Hack your account ?

If so I suggest that JJ and James be Dumped and deleted for deliberate uncalled for stalking of the membership.

Not to be Tolerated this shit, I recommend the Mods discuss this shit and sort it.

One way is to say: "Hands Up Three times!"

The report I read stated that someone reported a person carrying a gun to the Police and said several times that it was probably a fake and that he was probably a juvenile. With that in mind, I think the response was a little gung-ho.

Terry, you are getting more hysterical by the day. I reckon you should get yourself back to Perth and nuzzle up to a few sheilas to get some perspective back. Thailand can swivel those niblets in no time.

If guys put stuff out there then it's fair game for cyber world to take it where it can.
