A teenage girl from New York has become addicted to eating deodorant and consumes up to 15 sticks a month.

19-year-old Nicole's habit started when she was just four years old and has escalated so that she now eats deodorant every single day.

Although she mainly consumes solid sticks of deodorant, she also occasionally sprays it on her tongue.

Nicole, whose odd habit is featured on TLC's reality show My Strange Addiction, said: "My brain tells me, 'you have to eat it'. I tried giving it up for a week but got really sick and had bad headaches.

"When I realise I'm out of deodorant, I panic. My anxiety goes crazy and I get really aggravated."

The teenager regularly suffers from stomach cramps and is trying to cut down on deodorant after a doctor warned her of the potential dangers of her addiction.
