'Britain's worst dad' has been jailed for headbutting his partner when they rowed over a cheese toastie.
Keith Macdonald, who has fathered nine children by eight different women, attacked Stephanie Jubb when she scolded him for scattering crumbs at her home in Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland.
The 27-year-old, of General Graham Street, Millfield, Sunderland, went on the run after being convicted of criminal damage, theft, and the assault which left Ms Jubb with a bloody nose and two black eyes.
A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was warned when he handed himself into police earlier this month to expect a jail sentence.
Macdonald, who lives on benefits and contributes nothing to the upkeep of his children, attacked Miss Jubb after a drinking session in March this year.
He was about to tuck into a toastie when she told him: "You're not eating that upstairs, I've just hoovered."
In the row which followed, Miss Jubb ripped the plug for his Xbox games console from the wall.
In retaliation, he ran downstairs and threw her Nintendo Wii console across the room.
He then grabbed her arms and headbutted her in the face.
Mitigating, Gavin Sword told a sentencing hearing at Sunderland Magitstrates Court: "Since the incident he has significantly moderated his drinking.
"He said he used to have a drink first thing in the morning, but since he has been living away from the area he doesn’t drink at all during the week and has two or three drinks on a weekend."
Macdonald, who admitted an additional charge of absconding, was sentenced to 20 weeks in prison and ordered to abide by a 24 month restraining order.
