Her son died last year from a - denied - drug overdose, too. She was completely devastated. Spent most of her time fighting her ex in-laws over the cash she was left.

TRAGIC Anna Nicole Smith died last night — without ever getting her hands on a £400million fortune from her late husband’s estate.

The blonde former Playboy playmate, who became a film and reality TV star, collapsed in a hotel suite where she was staying with her boyfriend.
Her lawyer later confirmed she had died. It is thought she had taken an accidental drugs overdose.
She had recently been granted the right to fight for half of her late oil baron husband’s £800million fortune in the US Supreme Court.
Her death eerily echoed that of her movie star idol Marilyn Monroe — killed by an overdose in 1962.
Busty Anna, 39, was said to be “not breathing and unresponsive” when paramedics arrived to treat her at her suite in Hollywood, Florida.

The medics were seen pumping her chest and desperately trying to revive her as she was rushed on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
One onlooker said: “It didn’t look at all good for her. She seemed totally lifeless. Her bodyguard flew past me like a bat out of hell.”

Anna’s lawyer boyfriend Howard K Stern was said to be in “a total panic” as the tragedy unfolded.
The ex-stripper’s death came as she prepared to give evidence at an inquest into the overdose last year of her 20-year-old son Daniel.
He died three days after Anna gave birth to her daughter DaniLynn Hope in September.
Anna, who had flown into Florida the previous day from her Bahamas home, had also recently won the latest round of her long-running court battle that could have seen her become richer than the QUEEN.
She was 26 when she wed 89-year-old wheelchair-bound oil tycoon J Howard Marshall II in 1994.
His death 14 months later triggered a legal battle between Anna and Marshall’s son Pierce, who then died unexpectedly aged 68.
She claimed her husband promised her half of his estate, but Pierce Marshall said his father only intended her to have the £3million worth of gifts she received in 1994.
Legal experts said Naked Gun 33 1/3 star Anna, who had not received any money from her late husband’s estate since his death in 1995, had been looking the likely winner.
The blonde, born Vickie Lynn Hogan in Houston, Texas, always hoped to be a star. But she struggled at first, working as a teenage waitress at Jim’s Krispy Fried Chicken in her home town of Mexia.
She wed Daniel’s dad — a fellow diner worker — at 17 but the couple split in 1987 and divorced in ’93.

Anna, who also worked in a Wal-Mart store, spent most of her adult life fighting a painkiller addiction and also constantly battled booze. She was nicked for drink-driving in 1989.
She also struggled with her weight and had FIVE boob jobs in her bid to become the ultimate male fantasy — leaving her with 46DD breasts.
She got her big break in 1991, when Playboy boss Hugh Hefner fell for her and personally chose her to appear on the cover of the magazine.
Anna’s lawyer Ronald Rale confirmed her death last night. He said: “I can confirm she is deceased. It’s as shocking to me as to you guys. I don’t know anything further. Howard obviously is speechless and grieving.”
Police said her death was not being treated as a crime. But they insisted they would not know the cause before a full medical examination.
In the run-up to DaniLynn Hope’s birth, Stern said he was the father. But that was challenged by celebrity snapper Larry Birkhead who said he was the dad.
Last night Birkhead, 32, was on his way to a judge to seek immediate custody of the five-month-old tot.
DaniLynn was not with Anna Nicole in Florida when she died. She is being cared for in the Bahamas by the mother of Shane Gibson, a high-ranking Bahamian official and close pal of Anna.
Tycoon Hefner last night led tributes to tragic Anna. He said: “I am deeply saddened to learn about Anna Nicole’s death.
“She was a very dear friend who meant a great deal to Playboy and to me personally. My prayers and thoughts are with her friends and loved ones.”

Rescue services said the stricken blonde had died in her hotel room — and that a bodyguard had also tried to save her.
Paramedics inserted an intravenous line into her body, but she did not regain consciousness on her way to hospital.
Mr Rale added: “Anna did have some flu symptoms. I believe the last couple of days she was not feeling well. I think she had a fever. It is shocking — just a horrible, horrible thing.
“I do not think anyone should have to endure what she has. I felt like Anna was the underdog having all this thrust on her. She just wanted to be a mum, she was a good mum.” A post mortem will be held today.
