stroller.
my post was probably the most strident i have made as far as migration,
integration is concerned. i don't consider myself as a racist, not saying that anyone said i was. BUT, when people in either australia or england, or any other country have to change what they believe or express to placate what is still a minority, i hope, of the population, then, to me, something is wrong. not with the minority, but the government, the supposed voice of the people, elected by the majority.
as i said before.
if people want to live in another country, live there.
don't wholeheartedly try to change it.
again, why did they leave their own culture society, if all they want to do, sweeping generalisation, is change the culture they have moved to?
i do feel for people displaced by famine or war. but isn't their plight something to do with where they have left. and isn't part of their responsibility to accept, not everything, because there are some bad situations, the culture and society willing to offer some solace.
maybe they should try thailand. and be aliens with little or no hope of ever becoming citizens.
difficult subject to be objective about.
sorry for the use of so many commas. just typing.:)
well spotted, lilly. many of the posters in this thread are simply seeking to attract controversy.Quote:

seems england and many other countries have a face thing too.
how dare she not shake this mans hand,
and then how did it get to the media?
having said that, i think she should have shook his hand. personal view.
but, how did it become such an issue? if i don't wai my boss it aint in the paper.
If she isn't taken seriously by the authorities, don't we get a whole series of allegations against not just society but the state?
Who isn't taking the piss by applying for a job that they know they cannot effectively do? Or is it a case of just getting employed, so that she can build on suing the Met for bruising her half-baked ego?
Seems the civilised have to constantly put up with this sort of crap from those who are happy to live with us and benefit from our tolerance and generosity, only so long as we are prepared to change our ways to accommodoate their idiosyncrasies. Enough should be enough, though clearly not in some quarters.

I don't think she can be sacked for not shaking hands. Yeah, she can be sacked for having scarf on while on duty.
Considering she's on probation for 2 years, she hasnt got off to a good start by pissing of the guy right at the top of the chain of command. I'm pretty sure she won't be passing the probation and they don't have to give her a reason as to why she didnt pass....
...bloody ugly !Quote:
