I have eaten wagyu beef at some restaurants that charge $70 for a thin slice of badly cooked and chewy meat.
And then, there is Zen Cafe, where the roasted beef is just $28.80 and it’s so good.
Chef-owner Alan Sim uses wagyu beef from Australia and says he manages to keep prices down because he has a good contract with his supplier.
He also treats the meat very well. It is so tender that the knife goes through it with little effort.
And the flavour is lovely.
To lift it just a little bit more, the chef drizzles a few drops of truffle oil for that amazing aroma.
If you have always been curious about how wagyu tastes and do not want to pay fancy prices for it, this is the place to try it.
